Background: The aim was to explore the effect of rituximab in combination with chemotherapy in treating diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), thymidine kinase 1(TK1) with interleukin-6 (IL-6), plasma T cells, NK cells as well as B cells.
Methods: Eighty patients admitted to Lujiang County People's Hospital from January 2022 to January 2024 were included. The control group accepted cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone chemotherapy regimens. The research group was treated with rituximab based on the control group. The clinical effects, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels, lymphocyte subsets index, quality of life and occurrence of adverse reactions were compared in both groups.
Results: The research group's total clinical effective rate was better than the control group's (P<0.05). After therapy, compared to the control group, vascular endothelial growth factor, thymidine kinase 1, and interleukin-6 levels in the research group presented lower (P<0.05), plasma T cells, natural killer cells along with B cells in the research group presented lower (P<0.05), and Quality of Life Core Questionnaire-Core 30 scores in the research group presented higher (P<0.05). There was no difference in adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05).
Conclusions: Rituximab combined with chemotherapy is effective in treating DLBCL patients, which can reduce serum-related factors promoting immune function and quality of life. Our study may provide compelling evidence for supporting the therapeutic regimen of rituximab combined with chemotherapy in DLBCL patients.

Background: Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) represents a challenging complication of diabetes mellitus, characterized by slow healing processes. Protein kinase C delta (PKCδ) has been identified as a significant factor in the pathogenesis of various diabetic complications, including DFU. However, the precise underlying mechanisms remain to be fully elucidated.

Objectives: To explore the key role of myeloid-derived suppressive cells (MDSCs) in pre-metastatic niche (PMN) and analyze their interrelationships with the main components in the microenvironment using a mathematical model.
Methods: Mathematical descriptions were used to systematically analyze the functions of MDSCs in tumor metastasis and elucidate their association with the major components (vascular endothelial cells, mesenchymal stromal cells, and cancer-associated macrophages) contributing to the formation of the pre-metastatic microenvironment. Based on the formation principle of the pre-metastatic microenvironment of tumors, the key biological processes were assumed to construct a coupled partial differential diffusion equation model.

Background: Tetrandrine (TET) demonstrates therapeutic potential for hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (HPH); however, its precise pharmacological mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of TET on pulmonary vascular remodeling (PVR) in HPH and elucidate the molecular pathways through which TET ameliorates HPH.
Methods: We established a rat model of HPH and evaluated the therapeutic effects of TET by measuring hemodynamic parameters, assessing right ventricular hypertrophy, and analyzing pathological changes in lung tissue.

Retinal neovascularization is one of the most prevalent fundus neovascular diseases, affecting vision and potentially leading to severe complications, such as retinal detachment or irreversible blindness. Current treatments primarily involve intravitreal injections (IVT) of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) agents. However, such treatment often requires repeated injections, develop incomplete responses, and are associated with adverse effects.

Diabetes mellitus is a major global health concern associated with micro-and macrovascular complications. Among the diverse mechanisms that contribute to vascular dysfunction in diabetes, endothelial to mesenchymal transition (EndMT) has emerged as a key pathological process. EndMT involves the loss of endothelial cell characteristics and the acquisition of mesenchymal features, resulting in impaired endothelial function, increased fibrosis, and inflammation.
