Double-atom catalysts (DACs) with asymmetric coordination are crucial for enhancing the benefits of electrochemical reduction of nitrate (NO) to ammonia (NH) and advancing sustainable development; however, the rational design of DACs is still challenging. In this study, we synthesized atomically dispersed catalysts with lateral coordination sulfur-modified Cu-Ru sites (named NSCu-RuN/SNC). The abundant defects and low-electronegativity heteroatoms in the carbon-based framework endow the asymmetric local structure of NSCu-RuN at the atomic level, which is confirmed by aberration-corrected electron microscopy and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). In electrocatalytic nitrate reduction, the NSCu-RuN/SNC shows a Faraday efficiency of 98.2% at -0.6 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE). Benefiting from the charge tuning effect between the metal site and the lateral coordination sulfur atoms, the ammonia yield reaches 0.02919 mmol cm h. Additionally, XAS and density functional theory (DFT) calculations reveal that Cu-Ru active sites in the asymmetric NSCu-RuN/SNC structure exhibit synergistic effects, modulating the adsorption of intermediates, lowering the energy barrier of key reaction steps, and enhancing the selectivity and yield of ammonia. This asymmetric bimetallic atomic catalyst facilitates deeper exploration of the precise synthesis and property modulation of atomic-scale materials.

The gas-phase structures of dibenzo-24-crown-8 (DB24C8) and dinaphtho-24-crown-8 (DN24C8) complexes with divalent metal ions (Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Fe, Ni, and Zn) were investigated by cryogenic ion mobility-mass spectrometry (IM-MS) in combination with density functional theory calculations. Several complexes, particularly those of DN24C8, exhibited multiple coexisting conformers. DFT-optimized structures were classified based on the relative orientation of the two aromatic rings in the crown ether.

Purpose: The objective of the study was to evaluate the accuracy of femoral tunnel positioning in the reconstruction of the anteromedial (AM) bundle of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) using the most proximal and posterior portion of the lateral femoral condyle cartilage (Point C).
Methods: From December 2022 to December 2023, 47 patients underwent anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) in outside in manner using Point C as an anatomical landmark for AM bundle ACLR. After the procedure, the patients underwent tomographic evaluation to assess the accuracy of the positioning, using Bernard's quadrants.

Background: Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies examining emotional memory encoding often use event-related designs with stimuli in the form of words or pictures. Prior research has suggested differential hemispheric specialization for these stimulus types, yet no meta-analysis has directly compared the neural systems involved in each.
Methods: A meta-analysis was conducted using peer-reviewed, event-related fMRI studies.

This case report is the description of a devastating illness, Progressive Bulbar Palsy (PBP) of a sixty-seven years old male patient. He presented with complaints of slurred speech, hearing impairment, generalised weakness of limbs, weakened grip to hold objects in hand, difficulty to walk with normal speed, frequent dizzy feeling while walking, severe fatigue, increased anger, heaviness of head, depression, anxiety, decreased memory and headache for 1 year. When he consulted conventional medicine, in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of brain, only 'Partial empty sella' and age related mild cerebral atrophy was detected and the patient was diagnosed PBP clinically.

Purpose: To explore the experiences of people living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and their caregivers managing cough and secretion problems.
Methods: A qualitative study was completed with 15 individuals participating in 10 interviews; 10 people living with ALS and five informal caregivers. Interview methods were adapted to ensure inclusivity of participants who had physical, respiratory and communication impairments.
