MOFs are extensively utilized for recognizing metal ions. With their tunable structures, opportunities for postsynthetic modification, and chemical stability, MOFs outperform current alternatives by providing unique spectroscopic readings for metal ion detection. We find their recyclability particularly appealing, as it allows repeated use of the same host probe-this aspect is crucial for point-of-care technologies. This review offers an in-depth exploration of metal ion recognition through MOFs, including insights into sensing mechanisms and photophysical properties sourced from more than 130 articles. It serves as a valuable reference for those interested in a comprehensive understanding of knowledge.

ConspectusHydrogen spillover, the simultaneous diffusion of protons and electrons, has recently emerged as a key phenomenon in the functionalization of hydrogen in cutting-edge research fields. Its occurrence has been found to significantly impact hydrogen-related fields of science, such as catalysis, reduction, and hydrogen storage. Since the discovery of hydrogen spillover more than half a century ago, although many scientists have reported its unique properties and have attempted to utilize them, no practical advanced applications have been established yet.

Anode-free lithium (Li) metal batteries are promising candidates for high-performance energy storage applications. Nonetheless, their translation into practical applications has been hindered by the slow kinetics and reversibility of Li plating and stripping on copper foils. Here we report a two-dimensional polyamide (2DPA)/lithiated Nafion (LN) interphase layer for anode-free Li metal batteries.

Half-sandwich complexes of platinum-group metals are a widely studied subgroup of organometallic compounds with promising anticancer and antimicrobial properties. Recently, we have published a set of polyhapto arene/arenyl Ru(II), Os(II), Ir(III) and Rh(III) complexes with hetaryl-substituted 1-N-glucopyranosyl-1,2,3-triazole and C-glycopyranosyl-1,3,4- and -1,2,4-oxadiazole-type N,N-bidentate ligands, several of which exhibited (sub)micromolar antineoplastic and bacteriostatic potencies. The structure-activity relationships of these series indicated that the nature of the azole ring and its way of connection to the pyranoid sugar unit played crucial roles in the biological activity of such complexes.

Cemented paste backfill has made outstanding contributions to the large-scale consumption of phosphogypsum (PG), but poor water resistance significantly weakens the mechanical strength, promotes the leaching of total soluble phosphate (TP) and fluoride ions (F), and reduces its attractiveness in mine engineering. This research synthesized a curing agent (CA) using sodium methylsilicate, sodium silicate, and polyaluminum chloride (PAC). PG produced from Deyang Haohua Qingping Phosphate Mine Co.
