Article Abstract

Spatially resolved electroluminescence is investigated for InGaN-based blue and green micro-sized light-emitting diodes (μLEDs) to correlate nanoscale emission and macroscopic electrical characteristics using a confocal scanning electroluminescence optical microscopy. It was revealed that more observable emission wavelength inhomogeneity of green μLED can be beneficial for relatively lower leakage current, compared to blue counterpart, in terms of less severe lateral diffusion of injected carriers by highly indium concentrated regions and corresponding suppressed non-radiative recombination at the sidewall defects. This finding was further confirmed by relatively lower tunneling leakage current (ideality factor, n > 2) under low voltage regime (∼2 V) of green μLED and less shifted emission wavelength even at high current densities (>10 A/cm). Therefore, this systematic comparative analysis of blue and green μLEDs based on their nanoscale electroluminescence and leakage current characteristics enables us to identify the origin of suppressed leakage current from green μLED, which also offers a useful method to characterize μLED for display applications.

A middle-aged female presenting with progressive heart failure was admitted to the emergency department. She had a history of mitral and aortic valve replacement and a reoperation involving the Konno procedure. Echocardiography suggested a possible paraprosthetic leakage, which was confirmed during surgery.

In this study, we analyze InO thin-film transistors (InO-TFT) using synchrotron-based hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HAXPES) in conditions. A bottom-gate InO-TFT with a high- AlO gate dielectric, grown on thermally oxidized silicon (SiO/p-Si), was examined while operating at varying and . The results reveal that the In 3d core level binding energy varies along the horizontal channel length, driven by the potential gradient induced by .

Endoscopic vacuum therapy (EVT) offers an effective alternative for the treatment of anastomotic leakage. Current treatment options for leakage include conservative treatment, stent placement, or reoperation. However, conservative treatment often results in slow recovery and is frequently ineffective in severe cases.

Background: The m.3243A>G mutation in the MT-TL1 gene is the most common mtDNA mutation. The mutation can lead to a spectrum of conditions, including diabetes, hearing loss, heart and muscle involvement, encephalopathy and epilepsy, gastrointestinal problems, and vision impairment, often occurring concurrently-collectively referred to as MELAS (mitochondrial encephalopathy lactic acidosis and stroke-like episodes) syndrome.

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs), an emerging photovoltaic technology promising lower cost and higher efficiency, have been developed rapidly. However, the widespread use of lead in current PSCs raises toxicity concerns, prompting interest in lead-free alternatives. Despite this, comprehensive life cycle assessments of toxicity impacts across PSC types remain limited, potentially leading to biased technology choices and environmental harm.
