Article Abstract

We have proposed an all-optical switch based on a thermo-optic (TO) phase shifter with pump lights to control the on/off state of signal lights. In this study, we experimentally demonstrate the 1 × 8 Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI)-based silicon TO switch that performed broadband switching with the worst crosstalk of 15.2 dB in the C-band wavelength range and minimum insertion loss of 5.0 dB. Using a titanium metal heater, the elementary unit of this device, the 1 × 2 MZI-based TO switch, exhibited a π-phase-shift power P of 46.2 mW with switching times of 1.7 µs and 4.4 µs for 10%-90% rising time and 90%-10% falling time, respectively. Moreover, our proposed device can find applications in passive optical network systems to achieve remote control in all-optical signal processing.

Introduction: Pharmacokinetic differences between long-acting injectable antipsychotic (LAI) formulations, combined with a lack of clinical switch studies, contribute to clinician uncertainty when transitioning between LAIs. This analysis employed a population pharmacokinetic (popPK) modeling approach to characterize dosing conversions and switching strategies from intramuscular paliperidone palmitate once monthly (PP1m) to TV-46000, a long-acting subcutaneous formulation of risperidone, once monthly (q1m), with a secondary analysis of PP1m to TV-46000 every 2 months (q2m).

Methods: For PP1m and TV-46000, concentration-time profiles for paliperidone and TV-46000 total active moiety (TAM; risperidone + paliperidone) were simulated on the basis of published popPK models with virtual populations of 5000 patients.

The Impact of Obesity and Overweight on Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients: Real-World Insights from a Biologic and Targeted Synthetic DMARDs Registry. The management of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) has advanced with biological and targeted synthetic disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (b/tsDMARDs). However, obesity, a common comorbidity, impacts treatment and disease progression efficacy.

A novel medium-current (up to 20 mA), low normalized beam emittance (<1 π mm mrad) electron cyclotron resonance microwave H+ ion source has been developed at the Center for Energy Research in Budapest, Hungary. This high-stability design targets an energy ripple below 1% while delivering a continuous or pulsed proton beam with adjustable pulse duration (0.1-10 ms) and frequency (0.

A Design for Achieving Robustness in Molecular Machines Based on Self-Assembled Pyrene Cavitands.

We designed a molecular switch based on a cavitand and pyrene. The controllable switching properties of the cavitand paired with flexible chains are some of the best combinations for achieving robustness in complex environments. A rigid chain cavitand was also synthesized as a control, and its single crystals with high molecular weights were obtained.

B cells located in tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) may undergo clonal expansion, somatic hypermutation, isotype switching, and tumor-specific antibody production, suggesting that antibody-producing plasma cells may be involved in antitumor immunity. This study used a combination of single-cell sequencing (five samples from our center, and four samples from PRJNA662018) and spatial transcriptome (one sample from our center, and four samples from GSE169379) research methods to investigate the relationship between TLSs and the immunoglobulin repertoire in muscle invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). 405 patients with MIBC from TCGA and 348 patients with metastatic urothelial carcinoma on PD-L1 inhibitor treatment from the IMvigor210 trial were included in this study.
