Anaerobic digestion is a key technology for converting organic waste into methane, offering significant potential for renewable energy production and waste management. While the addition of conductive materials has been shown to improve direct interspecies electron transfer (DIET), their application faces challenges like biofouling, environmental risks, and increased operational costs. This study investigated the effects of co-culturing dual ( and ) and (DM-G) to enhance DIET and methane production without the addition of exogenous conductive materials.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally and in the United States, second only to cardiovascular disease. Unlike many cardiovascular conditions, cancer is often less preventable, manageable, and curable-even with ongoing technological advancements in medicine. The adverse effects of cancer treatments on cancer patients remain profound due to shared cellular characteristics between cancerous and normal cells; one of the primary adverse effects is treatment-induced inflammation.

Background: The increasing prevalence of azole-resistant (RCa) poses a critical therapeutic challenge, necessitating innovative antifungal approaches. Natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES), derived from natural metabolites such as terpenes, provide a promising and sustainable platform for delivering bioactive compounds with intrinsic pharmacological properties.
Purpose: This study evaluated a eutectic system composed of menthol and thymol (MT NADES, 1:1 M ratio) for its antifungal efficacy against a multidrug-resistant clinical strain.

c-Myc inhibition is a critical mechanism in mediating the therapeutic efficacy of osimertinib against EGFR mutant (EGFRm) NSCLCs and accordingly targeting c-Myc is an effective strategy for overcoming osimertinib acquired resistance, a challenging issue in the clinic. However, lack of specific c-Myc inhibitors restricts the application of this strategy. The current study focused on determining the potential application of an alternative c-Myc inhibitory approach to overcome osimertinib acquired resistance via targeting the MKK3/c-Myc interaction that stabilizes c-Myc protein.

Following the advent of antiretroviral therapy (ART), neurological, cardiovascular, and pulmonary comorbidities emerged as major challenges in treating non-infectious complications in people living with HIV. Despite effective ART, HIV viral proteins can persist in circulation even in individuals with negligible viral loads, potentially contributing to cellular and tissue-level stress, inflammation, and related health complications. Most of the HIV protein: Tat (Trans activator of Transcription), expressed in HIV-infected cells, is actively secreted and exerts its pathological effects on non-infected cells, particularly impacting the vascular endothelium.
