The extensive use of fluoroquinolones (FQs) leads to food residues, which present a significant risk to human health. A portable smartphone-assisted detection platform based on Tb/Eu-MOF nanomaterial was established for the detection of FQs, with the enrofloxacin (ENR) serving as a representative sample. Five Tb/Eu-MOFs with different bimetallic proportions were synthesized, and the Tb/Eu-MOFs (3:1) served as the optimal sensing element. The Tb/Eu-MOF nanomaterial suspension demonstrated a color change from orange-red to pale yellow as a result of fluorescence resonance energy transfer with ENR, attaining a LOD of 0.004 μM and a broad linear range of 0.005-25 μM. The Tb/Eu-MOF was incorporated into an agar slice and coupled with a smartphone for detection to improve portability. A smartphone-based agar slice platform was developed with a linear range of 5-150 μM and a LOD of 4.7 μM. This detection platform offers an innovative, low-cost and portable approach for FQs detection.

This study assessed the biological and antimicrobial properties of a calcium silicate-based material and calcium hydroxide (CH) when used as intracanal medications. MTT assay, osteogenic differentiation of human periodontal stem cells (hPDLSCs), cell mineralization-assay, and determination of ALP activity were assessed to investigate the biological properties. While the agar well diffusion, crystal violet (CRV) assay and LIVE/DEAD staining of dentin slices infected with a mature E.

Four different yeast strains were isolated from industrial gluten-free bread (GFB) purchased from a local supermarket. These strains, including , , , and , are responsible for spoilage, which consists of white powdery and filamentous colonies due to the fragmentation of hyphae into short-length fragments (dust-type spots) that is typical of the spoilage produced by chalk yeasts. The isolated strains were identified using genomic analysis.

Malachite green (MG), one of the most toxic veterinary drug residues, is of great significance to establish a rapid, accurate, and highly selective on-site quantitative detection method for food safety. In this study, a new strategy for the detection of MG in aquatic products is developed, which is based on orange fluorescent carbon dots (O-CDs) as nanoswitches for rapid and reversible detection of MG content. The overlap between the strong absorption of MG at 615 nm and the fluorescence emission spectra of O-CDs at 564 nm provides effective support for the internal filter effect (IFE) leading to fluorescence quenching of the system.
