Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) for lung cancer involves complex multileaf collimator (MLC) motion, which increases sensitivity to interplay effects with tumour motion. Current dynamic conformal arc methods address this issue but may limit the achievable dose distribution optimisation compared with standard VMAT. This study examined the clinical utility of a VMAT technique with monitor unit limits (VMATliMU) to mimic conformal arc delivery and reduce interplay effects while maintaining plan quality.

Purpose: Primary ventral hernia repair is a common elective procedure; however, mesh placement practices vary widely, and there is limited evidence to guide optimal placement. This international study examined surgeons' preferences and considerations regarding mesh placement in elective primary ventral hernia repair.

Methods: We conducted an international cross-sectional survey targeting surgeons experienced in primary ventral hernia repair.

Purpose: Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is a common technique in the surgical management of renal lithiasis, but it also represents a significant workload for surgeons. Factors such as the patient's position and the type of lithotripter used influence the physical and mental load on the surgeon. The study aimed to identify stressors related to PCNL by comparing the physical and mental workload experienced by urologists during PCNL under different patient positions and using two lithotripters.

Kinematic alignment is increasingly adopted in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) as a patient-specific strategy to restore native joint anatomy. However, its reliance on static radiographic measurements may not adequately reflect real-world functional biomechanics. This editorial underscores the importance of complementing static assessment with kinetic principles.

Although generally considered harmless commensals or beneficial probiotics, species can act as opportunistic pathogens under certain clinical conditions. We describe a case of high-grade bacteremia in a 59-year-old man with a history of aortic root dilation status post Bentall procedure and bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement. The suspected source was recent dental instrumentation.
