Article Abstract

The objective was to explore the distribution characteristics of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase 677C > T and 1298A > C gene polymorphisms among women of childbearing age in the Tai'an area. A total of 243 women of childbearing age, the age ranged from 20 to 46 years, with a mean age of 31.0 ± 5.1 years, attending the Eugenics Clinic of Tai'an City Central Hospital between January 2018 and April 2019 were selected. The 677C > T and 1298A > C gene polymorphisms were determined by fluorescence in situ hybridization. Among 243 women of childbearing age, the 677C > T genotype frequencies of CC, CT, and TT were 14.4%, 44.9%, and 40.7%, respectively, and the C and T Allele frequencies were 36.8% and 63.2%, respectively. The 1298A > C genotype frequencies of AA, AC, and CC were 77.0%, 21.0%, and 2.0%, respectively. The A and C allele frequencies were 87.4% and 12.6%, respectively. The proportions of CC/AA, CC/AC, CC/CC, CT/AA, CT/AC, TT/AA, and TT/AC were 6.6%, 5.8%, 2.0%, 30.5%, 14.4%, 39.9%, and 0.8%. The proportion of women at moderate or severe risk of folic acid metabolism reached 87.6%. The 677C > T gene mutation rate has obvious regional characteristics. The 677C > T and 1298A > C gene polymorphisms in Tai'an were obvious. About 87.6% of women of childbearing age were at medium or high risk of folic acid utilization.

Background: Female reproductive disorders (FRDs) are common diseases among women of childbearing age, affecting their reproductive health. Age at first sexual intercourse (AFS) is potentially linked to FRDs, and this study aims to investigate these associations and underlying mechanisms, to offer new insights and guidance for sex education in adolescent women and reproductive health management.

Methods: Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was performed using summary data from genome-wide association studies (GWASs).

Objective: We evaluated real-world treatment patterns and unmet needs associated with migraine preventive medications in Japan following the introduction of calcitonin gene-related peptide monoclonal antibodies (CGRP mAbs), focusing on persistence, switching, and adherence rates.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study analyzed JMDC (previously Japan Medical Data Center) claims data (index date: April 2021 to January 2024) for treatment-naïve patients who initiated oral migraine preventive medications (OMPMs;  = 12,750) and patients initiating CGRP mAbs ( = 3,280). Persistence was defined as continuous therapy without a 60-day or longer gap.

Background: The Italian Medically Assisted Reproduction Registry (ItMARR) was established by a Decree of the Minister of Health issued on October 7, 2005. ItMARR has a crucial role in clearly and publicly disseminating epidemiological information on MAR activities and outcomes.

Methods: ItMARR data are collected in aggregate form and their submission is mandatory as stipulated by Law 40/2004.

Purpose: This study aims to systematically quantify the global burden of osteoarthritis (OA) in women of childbearing age (WCBA) and analyze its temporal trends and regional disparities.

Methods: This study utilized the Global Burden of Disease 2021 data to assess the incidence and years lived with disability (YLDs) spanning from 1990 to 2021. The Bayesian age-period-cohort (BAPC) model was adopted to forecast trends up to 2045.

Aims: Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) presents a significant global public health issue, particularly affecting women of childbearing age (WBCA). The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the IPV globally. This study aimed to assess the global burden and health inequalities attributable to IPV among WBCA from 1990 to 2021.
