This study comprehensively evaluated the changes in yuba during long-term storage. Protein and lipid oxidation intensified significantly with increasing storage time, as evidenced by a decrease in total sulfhydryl content and increases in carbonyl content, peroxide value (POV), thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), and total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-N) ( < 0.05). These oxidative changes contributed to the deterioration of sensory acceptability, quality attributes, and processing performance ( < 0.05). Among the 62 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) identified, ketones were the most diverse, and aldehydes were the most abundant. Relative odor activity value (ROAV) analysis identified five key volatile compounds (ROAV >1) (1-hexanal-M, 1-hexanal-D, 2-methyl butanal-M, 2-methyl butanal-D, and 1-octen-3-one) which can be regarded as typical aroma markers of yuba. This study provides a reference for quality control during yuba storage and supports its industrial development.

We produced transgenic medaka fish lines that mimicked the expression of the GAP43 gene. Fish lines with the proximal 2-kilobase (kb) 5'-untranslated region (UTR) as the expression promoter specifically expressed enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) in neural tissues, such as the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves, and its expression decreased with growth, but persisted until adulthood. A functional analysis of the promoter using partially deleted UTRs revealed that functions related to neural tissue-specific promoter activity were widely distributed in the region upstream of the proximal 400-b.

Cases of proto-oncogene B-Raf () V600E mutation are rare, accounting for 1%-4% of non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs), and its clinical features remain unclear. Here, we report a case of mutation-positive lung adenocarcinoma with an atypical clinical course and long-term survival. The patient was a 63-year-old female nonsmoker who was diagnosed with stage IA adenocarcinoma after surgical resection.

Post-mastectomy pain syndrome (PMPS) is a common and often debilitating condition. The syndrome is defined by chest wall pain unresponsive to standard pain medications and the presence of exquisite point tenderness along the inframammary fold at the site of the T4 and T5 cutaneous intercostal nerve branches as they exit from the chest wall. Pressure at the site triggers and reproduces the patient's spontaneous or motion-evoked pain.

Cerebral ischemia is a deadly condition that arises due to blockage of the blood vessels in the brain leading to oxygen deficiency thereby arresting brain functions and resulting in death or permanent impairment. Though a myriad of factors has been proposed to cause cerebral ischemia, it has been generally regarded as an old age-associated malady. However, unhealthy diet, stressful lifestyle and deteriorating environment quality has dramatically reduced the age on onset as well as the number of victims in recent years.
