Long-duration spaceflight missions (including the International Space Station [ISS]) are in one of the most remote and harsh environments humans live and work in. Medical emergencies in space are even more complicated in an already high-risk environment. Despite training, ISS crewmembers face many challenges in diagnosing and managing disease with limited diagnostic capability and equipment on the ISS, restricted medication availability, delayed access to medical professionals; and the latency of space missions. Ocular trauma (e.g., cabin contact with equipment, chemical exposure, and foreign body entry) has been well-documented in previous ISS missions, highlighting the vulnerability of crewmembers' vision. While no serious vision loss has yet occurred, the risk of ocular injuries during future commercial and lunar missions remains significant. We review the utilization of onboard diagnostic tools and potential management modalities with current ISS resources for mitigating long-term effects of ocular trauma in the unique microgravity environment of spaceflight. We aim to assess the overall medical preparedness for future space exploration to ensure the well-being and ocular health of crewmembers during extended missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

Purpose: To study clinical characteristics and outcomes of penetrating keratoplasty (PK) and deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) wound dehiscence.
Methods: This retrospective case series assessed PK and DALK recipients with wound dehiscence at a single institution. We evaluated relationships between dehiscence etiologies, transplant indications, ocular/systemic comorbidities, keratoplasty type, and adverse post-dehiscence outcomes, especially graft failure and visual loss.

Introduction: Preseptal cellulitis, the most common periorbital cellulitis manifestation, is more common in children. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to analyze the diagnosis and treatment of preseptal cellulitis infections in patients admitted to Children's Medical Center, an Ira-nian referral hospital, between 2015 and 2019.
Methods: The demographic characteristics of patients, symptoms at admission, affected eye (unilat-eral/bilateral and right/left), the duration of symptoms and treatment, imaging findings, and the mi-crobial culture were recorded from patient history and medical files.

Traumatic vitreous hemorrhage is most commonly associated with sports injuries or accidental falls. We report an exceptionally rare case of vitreous hemorrhage presumed to result from blunt trauma inflicted by the forepaw of a domestic cat. A 50-year-old man presented with blurred vision and ocular pain in his right eye after being struck by his pet cat.

Orbital trauma can result in significant complications, particularly when accompanied by foreign body entrapment. Wooden foreign bodies are rare but carry a high risk of infection and chronic inflammation. In these cases, immediate surgical intervention is critical for restoring orbital anatomy and preventing complications.
