Article Abstract

The accumulation of plastic waste poses a serious environmental challenge, and traditional disposal methods have become insufficient. The autoclave hydrothermal processing method, employing supercritical liquid as a solvent, offers notable advantages for plastic thermal decomposition, including high conversion efficiency and superior product yield. The main objective of this study is to explore the characteristics of wax products derived from the hydrothermal conversion of LDPE plastic, thereby facilitating research into heavy hydrocarbons outside the range of petrol fuel. Thus, the impact of temperature and polar solvent on the product distribution has been profoundly examined. The findings show that at temperatures below 420 °C, the hydrothermal wax displays a hardness comparable to paraffin and is insoluble in conventional solvents. The solid wax product yield reaches 98.8 % at 425 °C, representing the optimal result among all tested conditions. The addition of polar solvents enhance the efficiency of LDPE chain scission, whereas the presence of oxygen broadens the distribution of oxygenated products. Adding 100 % ethanol solvent results in 78 % liquid phase and 22 % gas phase, while adding 100 % acetic acid results in a reduction of carbon chains from 22.2 to 15.3. Ethanol-induced chemical cyclization in the hydrothermal wax resulted in the formation of liquid aromatic compounds (25.96 %). In contrast, acetic acid led to further cracking of the wax, leading to the production of a higher proportion of light hydrocarbons (83.2 %).

Rubber accelerators are chemicals used as vulcanizers in the production of rubber items and may cause contact allergy (CA). The aim of this study was to assess the worldwide prevalence of CA to rubber accelerators from the European baseline series among dermatitis patients. A comprehensive literature search across PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science yielded 106 studies with 826 543 individuals patch tested between 1984 and 2023.

Rapid, low-cost, and visual nucleic acid detection methods are highly attractive for curbing colistin resistance spread through the food chain. CRISPR/Cas12a combined with recombinase-aided amplification (RAA) offers a one-pot, aerosol-free approach for visual detection. However, traditional one-pot systems often run Cas12a trans-cleavage in a buffer suitable for RAA, thus limiting Cas12a cleavage efficiency.

Chlorophyll is vital for plants, giving them their green color and playing indispensable crucial role in photosynthesis. Chlorophyll-deficient mutants serve as classic models for studying plant pigment metabolism and typically exhibit chlorotic or albino phenotypes, resulting in major impacts on photosynthetic efficiency and growth development of plants. Understanding the mechanisms behind chlorophyll deficiency not only advances basic plant biology but also supports crop breeding strategies aimed at improving yield, stress tolerance, and adaption.

This study explores the extraction of polysaccharides from Nostoc commune Vauch. using ultrasonic-assisted three-phase partitioning with deep eutectic solvents (UA-TPP-DES). Response surface methodology was used to determine the optimized UA-TPP-DES conditions as follows: a 1: 2 M ratio of lauric acid to terpineol, 30 min of ultrasonication at 60 °C with 100 W power, 20 % moisture content, 20 % w/w (NH)SO concentration, and a 2: 1 top-to-bottom phase volume ratio.
