Article Abstract

is a small genus belonging to the family Cortinariaceae, distinguished by its distinctive combination of small basidiospores and presence of both cheilo- and pleurocystidia, a combination that is rarely found in other genera within the Cortinariaceae. To date, this genus consists of only two subgenera and includes seven recognized species. Previously, only a single specimen of was reported from China. Based on the analysis of 17 newly collected specimens, supported by morphological evidence and two-locus phylogenetic inference, five species, namely, , and , were recognized. Among them, the former three species are new to science, whereas the last one is new to China. This study provides comprehensive taxonomic descriptions and a detailed identification key to the species discovered in China.

Echinorhynchids are a group of globally distributed acanthocephalan parasites mainly of freshwater, brackish and marine fishes and occasionally, reptiles and amphibians. During several parasitology surveys in the Gulf of Mexico and Northeast Pacific, Mexico, acanthocephalans were recovered from two marine fish species. The specimens from the Gulf of Mexico were identified as Caballerorhynchus lamothei (Cavisomidae), a typical parasite of the striped mojarra, whereas adult acanthocephalans from the Northeast Pacific, Mexico, from the Garibaldi fish exhibited morphological characteristics belonging to the family Transvenidae.

Four Gram-stain-negative, strictly aerobic, catalase- and oxidase-positive bacterial strains, designated 2201CG5-10, 2201CG14-23, 2201CG1-2-11, and 2304DJ70-9 were isolated from marine sponges collected in the Republic of Korea. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene and whole-genome sequences revealed that these strains represent a distinct phyletic lineage within the genus Aquimarina. Based on the whole-genome sequence comparisons, the closest phylogenetic relatives of the four novel strains were Aquimarina latercula DSM 2041, Aquimarina pacifica SW150, and Aquimarina mytili PSC33, which shared average nucleotide identity values below 81.

Aquatic environmental pollution could be a direct trigger of infection through cercarial invasion to skin / gills or indirectly as a predisposing factor that damage the physical barriers of targeted fish resulting in high intensities of EMC infections in all fish vital organs. Background: The Amazon region is home to more than 30% of the sand flies species in Colombia, including vectors of Leishmania mainly in the genus Lutzomyia and Psychodopygus. Advances in morphological and molecular taxonomy of sand flies facilitate the development of updated and robust species inventories in understudied areas, such as the departments of Amazonas and Caquetá. Currently, integrating the detection of blood meal sources and Leishmania DNA represents a key approach under the "One Health" concept by providing insights into human and animal health and the dynamics of different ecosystems.
