Background: Se ( 120 days, 215 keV) offers advantages over Ir ( 74 days, 360 keV) as a high dose rate brachytherapy source due to its lower gamma energy and longer half-life. Despite its widespread use in industrial gamma radiography, a Se brachytherapy source has yet to be manufactured.
Purpose: A novel Se-based source design with a vanadium diselenide core, titled the SeCure source, was proposed.

The Lines-of-Defense model postulates that older adults should engage in important health goals and behaviors for as long as possible and adjust them downwardly only when they become impossible to pursue. This process is thought to be supported by goal engagement and self-protective control strategies. We tested this model in a 4-year longitudinal study of 236 older adults by predicting the maintenance of physical activity using accelerometers.

Artificial intelligence health research is, among other things, advancing the accuracy of diagnosis, enabling new drug and treatment options, and reducing costs in healthcare. Like elsewhere, artificial intelligence health research is rapidly expanding across the African continent; however, numerous co-travelling ethical challenges - including those related to data protection, equitable access, and data colonization - are under-addressed.

Oesophagostomum spp. and Ascaris suum represent the most common porcine nematodes and anthelmintic resistance (AR) to various anthelmintics has been reported for Oesophagostomum. However, the current AR status for worm populations on German farms and practical methods facilitating reliable AR detection are missing.
