The formation of heterostructure interfaces from quantum dots (or nanocrystals) and lower-dimensional (2D or quasi-2D) materials enables interfacial and optoelectronic property tuning. However, this strategy has not been sufficiently characterized, for example, the application of cesium halide nanocrystals to quasi-2D perovskite structures is underexplored, and the mechanisms of the resulting structural modifications and specific nanocrystal roles are not fully understood. Herein, the effects of postsynthetically surface-modifying quasi-2D perovskite films with CsX ( = Cl, Br, I) nanocrystals are examined to bridge this gap.

Kappa carrageenan (KC), a sulfated polysaccharide derived from red seaweed, exhibits distinct gelation properties that are influenced by ionic strength and thermal conditions. While its behavior in aqueous media is well-established, understanding KC's gelation mechanisms in non-aqueous solvents (like glycerol) remains limited. This study investigates the conformational and rheological properties of kappa carrageenan in glycerol, focusing on the effects of sodium salts (NaCl, NaHPO, NaPO) at varying concentrations and preparation temperatures (60 °C and 80 °C).

Ferrimagnets (FiMs), particularly compensated FiMs, composing of coupled sublattices with antiparallel and inequivalent magnetic moments, present a unique material platform for the regulation of magnetism, which is highly desirable for the design of next-generation spin-based devices. Nevertheless, highly efficient methods for controlling its ferromagnetism remains significantly limited owning to the epitaxial growth required for producing high quality and fully featured films. This study, demonstrates the multiple tunability of ferrimagnetism in the rare-earth iron garnets (REIG: thulium iron garnet) film by incorpoating the graphene interlayers.

The preoptic area (POA) is a well-established regulator of body temperature, but its role in feeding behavior remains underexplored. Our study identifies leptin receptor (Lepr)-expressing neurons in the POA (POA) as critical component to suppress food intake (FI) and increase satiety in response to warm ambient temperatures. Utilizing chemogenetic activation in mice of both sexes, we demonstrate that selective activation of POA neurons mimics the effects of warm temperatures, leading to a significant reduction in FI.

This theoretical study provides a comprehensive analysis of the tunable influence of combined electric bias and magnetic fields on the thermoelectric properties of Tetragonal Silicene nanoribbons (T-SiNRs). The analysis focuses on both symmetric and asymmetric lattice configurations of T-SiNRs. The findings reveal that the application of a bias voltage induces an energy gap, transforming metallic T-SiNRs into semiconductors.
