Crosstalk between leukemic cells and their surrounding mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) in the bone marrow microenvironment is crucial for the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and is mediated by extracellular vesicles (EVs). The EV-specific miRNAs derived from MDS-MSCs remain poorly explored. EVs isolated from HS-5, an immortalized stromal cell line, promoted the proliferation and 5-azacytidine (AZA) resistance of SKM-1 cells.

Background: Mixed-phenotype acute leukemia (MPAL) is a rare acute leukemia for which data are currently not available to guide therapy. It has a poor outcome, particularly in elderly patients.
Case Presentation: We report the successful use of venetoclax/azacitidine as treatment for a treatment-naive elderly patient with early T-cell precursor (ETP)/myeloid MPAL.

Group A Rotavirus (RVA) poses a significant health risk. Unfortunately, there are currently no the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved antiviral compounds available for treating RVA-induced diarrhea. The lectin-like domain of VP8* plays an important role in the RVA lifecycle.

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), particularly in older adults aged 60 years and above, present significant therapeutic challenges due to poor prognosis and limited treatment options. Higher-risk MDS (HR-MDS), defined by the Revised International Prognostic Scoring System score of ⩾3.5, is characterized by increased myeloblasts, severe cytopenia, and a median survival of <2 years.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a heterogeneous disease characterized by a broad spectrum of molecular alterations that influence clinical outcomes. mutations define one of the most lethal subtypes of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), driving resistance to nearly all available treatment modalities, including venetoclax plus azacitidine (VenAza). Yet, the molecular basis of this resistance, beyond affecting transactivation of BCL-2 family genes, has remained elusive.
