Article Abstract

In this work, the ability of the photosynthetic purple non-sulfur bacterium sp. to produce H was investigated in two cylindrical photobioreactors (PBRs). The PBRs used in this work had different working volumes: 0.2 L of working volume (named 0.2-PBR) and 4.0 L of working volume (named 4.0-PBR). Two mixing methods were tested in the 4.0-PBR. The first used a rotor with four paddles, and the second a spiral rotor. Additionally, light conversion efficiency (LCE) was assessed for the three conditions tested. The culture in the 0.2-PBR produced 142.15 mL of H with an average H production rate of 0.74 mL/h, an average productivity of 3.70 mL/L/h and an LCE = 0.59%. The culture in the 4.0-PBR produced a total of 806.05 mL and 1642 mL of H with the paddle rotor and the spiral rotor, respectively. The average H production rate and LCE of the two rotors were 2.29 mL/h and LCE = 0.58% in the case of the paddle rotor and 2.87 mL/h and LCE = 0.72% in the case of the spiral rotor. The more uniform and thus more efficient mixing of the cells achieved with the spiral rotor played an important role compared to the paddle rotor, resulting in a higher LCE. This study presents a scale-up from 0.2 L to 4.0 L of the photofermentation process using the purple non-sulfur bacterium sp. S16-VOGS3.

Background: Various methods have been devised for catheter ablation of persistent atrial fibrillation (AF). However, it remains difficult to understand the mechanism of AF and to determine the optimal method.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of rotor modification (RM) compared to posterior wall isolation (PWI) in the treatment of persistent AF.

As an information carrier, current signal directly reflects the electromechanical coupling between the stator and rotor of an induction motor. In this study, a detection method of winding fault based on current information is proposed to identify fault and realize feature decoupling for an induction motor. Unlike most current analysis methods, this method combines the electromagnetic field distribution with the feature frequency of the current signal to achieve the detection of the stator winding fault.

The flow characteristics of gas-liquid two-phase flow significantly impact the operational efficiency of triple-screw pumps, playing a crucial role in the optimization of structural design and assembly of these pumps. To investigate the influence of gas volume fraction on the flow field and rotor of a triple-screw pump, a transient simulation analysis of the flow field in the multiphase triple-screw pump under different gas volume fraction conditions was conducted based on the Eulerian-Eulerian heterogeneous flow model and the immersed solid method. Furthermore, a mechanical simulation analysis of the rotor was performed based on the obtained results.

The four-rotor plant protection Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is an important piece of equipment for the efficient plant protection field. However, the flight-coupled wind field is unclear, which has become the bottleneck factor limiting the improvement of the spray quality. When the multi-rotor plant protection UAV flew and sprayed, the liquid droplets were accelerated, the stems and branches were shaken, and the leaves were turned over in the disturbance area of the spiral backward flight-coupled wind field.
