Article Abstract

A new member affiliated with the genus , designated as strain TCA, was isolated from a dechlorinating enrichment culture originating from a freshwater river sediment. Its genome includes a 3.5 Mb chromosome with a G + C content of 66.2% and a 3.2 kb plasmid with a G + C content of 59.9%.

is an environmental opportunistic fungal pathogen, which can lead to invasive aspergillosis in immunocompromised individuals, and resistant to conventional antifungual agents has become a growing concern. This study investigated the antifungal activity and the molecular antifungal mechanisms of Cinnamaldehyde (CA) against , specifically its impact on metabolic pathways and protein metabolism. In susceptibility tests, CA was found to exhibit promising antifungal activity against in both solid and liquid culture (biomass) systems, with the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) determined as 40-80 μg/mL.

Background: has the ability to adapt to variable environments by modulating metabolism. The Tricarboxylic Acid Cycle (TCA), as a core metabolic process, is critical for the environmental adaptation and infection process of . Fumarate reductase FrdA is an important enzyme in the TCA cycle, mainly catalyzing the conversion of fumarate to succinate.

Oleaginous filamentous fungus Mucor circinelloides harbors a GATA transcription activator AreA, which regulates nitrogen metabolism. In our previous study, deletion of AreA resulted in increased lipid production, while its overexpression reduced lipid synthesis. Although it is not a direct lipogenesis regulator, AreA influences metabolic flux by modulating nitrogen utilization pathways, which in turn affects carbon distribution.

Poly (butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) is a biodegradable polyester widely used in agriculture and packaging. However, its slow decomposition under natural conditions raises environmental concerns. In this study, we explored strategies to enhance PBAT degradation by Purpureocillium lilacinum strain BA1S.

l-Homoserine is a valuable intermediate with broad applications in the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. Although has been engineered for the efficient biosynthesis of l-homoserine, both production efficiency and glucose conversion remain suboptimal. In this study, an engineered strain capable of high-yield l-homoserine production from glucose was successfully developed.
