Background: Health systems globally aim for Universal Health Coverage (UHC), however progress toward UHC remains challenging in many countries. Despite previous unsuccessful parliamentary attempts to secure national commitment to a UHC plan in Lebanon, a renewed and revised effort is currently being made by a dedicated parliamentary committee. This study has two main objectives: to examine the emergence of the UHC bill as a priority on the Lebanese policy agenda using John Kingdon's Framework; and (2) to conduct a policy analysis using Bardach and Patashnik's eight-step framework to identify the most suitable funding option for the proposed UHC program.

Bridging the gap between research and policy continues to be a major challenge in Ethiopia, particularly in the nutrition sector, where evidence is often fragmented, inconsistently collected, and underutilized. Traditional research-to-policy approaches are frequently misaligned with policymaking needs due to differences in timelines, priorities, and communication practices. While these challenges are not unique to Ethiopia-and indeed, numerous global efforts have attempted to address them with varying degrees of success-examples from other settings offer useful insights for strengthening the interface between evidence and action.

We report a rare case of restrictive strabismus in a pediatric patient who was initially misdiagnosed with Duane retraction syndrome (DRS) because she had large-angle exotropia, restricted adduction, globe retraction, narrowing of the palpebral fissure, and downshoot on attempted adduction. Notably, the parents first observed strabismus at 12 months of age, with photographs taken before 6 months of age revealing no ocular misalignment. Despite the absence of typical inflammatory signs, the temporal discrepancy, characterized by delayed onset inconsistent with congenital DRS, prompted further investigation.
