Article Abstract

Groundwater contaminated by dense non-aqueous phase liquids (DNAPLs) such as chlorinated hydrocarbons is difficult to remediate. The combination of flushing agents has a synergistic solubilization effect on the removal of DNAPLs. However, the solubilization mechanisms of DNAPLs under the mixed flushing agent treatment remains poorly understood. In this work, the dissolution process of tetrachloroethylene (PCE) in Hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPCD)-ethanol mixed solution system was observed through one-dimensional (1D) capillary experiments. The mixed HPCD-ethanol solution has a synergistic solubilization effect on PCE dissolution, and the synergistic solubilization function curve of PCE was derived. Furthermore, the mixed HPCD-ethanol solution was used to investigate PCE removal process within a two-dimensional (2D) transparent micromodel. The results demonstrate that the combination of flushing agents significantly enhance PCE removal efficiency. The maximum dissolution rate of PCE under the flushing of the mixed solution was increased by a factor of 2-6 compared to single solution systems of ethanol or HPCD, and the flushing time was reduced by 40 %.

This work reports the nanoscale micellar formation in single and mixed surfactant systems by combining an amphiphilic graft copolymer, Soluplus® (primary surfactant), blended with other polyoxyethylene (POE)-based nonionic surfactants such as Kolliphor® HS15, Kolliphor® EL, Tween-80, TPGS®, and Pluronics® P123 in an aqueous solution environment. The solution behaviour of these surfactants as a single system were analyzed in a wide range of surfactant concentrations and temperatures. Rheological measurements revealed distinct solution behaviour in the case of Soluplus®, ranging from low-viscosity () and fluid-like behavior at ≤20% w/v to a highly viscous state at ≥90% w/v, where the loss modulus ('') exceeded the storage modulus (').

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is closely linked with obesity and associated metabolic dysfunctions, including insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and chronic inflammation. Pentacyclic triterpene acids (PTAs) derived from are promising bioactive compounds that may help mitigate these disorders. This study investigated the effects of a PTA-rich fraction on metabolic disruptions in cellular and diet-induced obesity mouse models.

Although the efficiency of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) keeps breaking new records, their stability and cost are still limited by using the conventional hole transport material of 2,2',7,7'-tetrakis(,-di--methoxyphenylamine)-9,9'-spirobifluorene (Spiro-OMeTAD). Herein, we use 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) as a solubilizer to enhance the dissolution of lithium bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonylimide (Li-TFSI) and reduce the 4--bultypyridine (TBP) dosage. Then, EDOT undergoes in situ oxidative polymerization to generate PEDOT by an oxidizing agent of iodine (I).

Phosphite serves as an alternative phosphorus material in terrestrial ecosystems. (), a prominent phosphate-solubilizing fungus (PSF), facilitates phosphorus and leaches heavy metal ions via organic acids and enzymes. With the synergistic effect of phosphate materials, heavy metal ions can be effectively immobilized by to achieve remediation of contaminated soils.

Unlabelled: Drought stress substantially threatens global food security. To cope with this, a field-based trial was performed to examine the influence of PGPRs/microbial consortia & ) and kinetin on the maize under full irrigation and 50% drought. The results of biochemical features of bacteria revealed positive for phosphorus, and zinc solubilization with great capacity to battle stress circumstances owing (ACC deaminase, Indole 3 Acetic acid IAA, and siderophore) production.
