Article Abstract

Dense spectral beam combining (DSBC) of a laser diode module at a wavelength of 650 nm was realized for what we believe to be the first time. In this paper, the optimal spectral locking interval range for the 650 nm wavelength band was obtained by stimulation. A DSBC device containing 19 single emitters was designed and built according to the optimal spectral interval. The output power of the combining beam reached 17.74 W, and the stable spectral width was 4.75 nm. The beam quality factors (M) in the fast-axis and slow-axis directions were basically the same as that of the single emitter, and even slightly optimized in the slow-axis direction. The beam brightness of the DSBC beam was about 123.395 MW·cm·sr, which was about fourteen times higher than that of the single emitter output.

This study investigated the effects of electron beam irradiation (0-8 kGy) on the physicochemical and protein properties of scallop adductor muscles under refrigerated storage. Irradiation significantly decreased moisture content, microbial counts, and total sulfhydryl content immediately after treatment (day 0), while increasing carbonyl content, surface hydrophobicity, and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) (P < 0.05).

Introduction: Although several elegant studies have reported apical periodontitis prevalence in different populations, far less is known about its associated bone loss and its correlation to sex and age. Thus, this study investigated the impact of sex and age differences on the severity of apical periodontitis (AP) using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and a volumetric periapical index (CBCT-PAI).

Material And Methods: CBCT scans of 401 patients (1,027 teeth) were analyzed by calibrated examiners in CBCTPAI.

Background: Single-isocenter multiple-target (SIMT) treatments are a robust beam delivery technique involving modulated multileaf collimators for off-axis targets. SIMT requires quality assurance (QA) for both dosimetry and geometry to ensure accurate beam delivery according to the treatment plan. A primary challenge in SIMT QA is the need for phantoms capable of evaluating both dosimetric and geometric accuracy.

Purpose: Experimental patient-specific quality assurance (PSQA) in proton therapy is a labor-intensive process requiring physical access to treatment rooms, beam time, and significant human resources. With the increasing complexity of treatment plans and the implementation of adaptive therapy, the need for efficient alternatives is pressing. Simulation-based techniques are proposed as a replacement or enhancement for experimental ones.

In this work, we developed a vacuum-compatible long trace profiler (LTP) for in situ metrology of ultra-precise x-ray optics within synchrotron vacuum chambers. Although traditional LTPs operate ex situ under atmospheric pressure, earlier optical setups-such as that by Qian et al.-performed in situ distortion measurements by directing laser beams through vacuum viewports.
