To date, environmental conditions have been enough to act as an effective barrier to prevent non-indigenous species from arriving and establishing in Arctic Canada. However, rapidly changing climatic conditions are creating more suitable habitats for non-indigenous species to potentially establish and become invasive. Concurrently, shipping traffic in parts of Arctic Canada has increased by over 250% since 1990, providing an effective vector for transporting non-indigenous species to the region.

Purpose: This study explored factors influencing nurses' participation in the health policy development processes in the newly established Bono East Region of Ghana.
Design/methodology/approach: Utilising a qualitative research approach, an explorative case study design and purposive sampling were employed to recruit 24 nurses from three health facilities in the Techiman Municipality. In-depth interviews were conducted, recorded, transcribed, coded and analysed using a thematic content analysis.

Sutter Care at Home (SCAH), part of the not-for-profit Sutter Health integrated system, serves Northern California's Valley and Bay Areas through 14 licensed home health and nine hospice agencies, many of which reach rural communities. Like many home health organizations, SCAH has faced a persistent registered nurse (RN) shortage, challenging its ability to maintain care delivery standards. In response, executive leadership launched a 12-month Registered Nurse New Graduate Residency Program to recruit and support newly graduated RNs.

Background: United States healthcare systems face an imminent need to recruit and retain direct care registered nurses (RNs), driven in part by high nurse turnover rates, which contribute to substantial economic and non-economic burdens. The pandemic exacerbated nurse turnover rates, while colleges of nursing simultaneously experienced a faculty shortage lending to fewer baccalaureate prepared RNs entering the workforce. Our large academic health system experienced similar challenges while the College of Nursing (CON) rapidly increased student enrollment to meet the need for additional RNs requiring an immediate and creative solution.
