Soft-tissue defects around the elbow present challenges in reconstructive surgery. We report the case of a 26-year-old man with extensive lateral elbow soft tissue defects, irreparable lateral epicondyle and lateral collateral ligament complex (LCLC) damage, and radial head and forearm extensor muscle deficiencies. Treatment involved a free anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap for soft tissue and an iliotibial tract graft for LCLC reconstruction. Postoperative recovery showed favorable outcomes with functional restoration. This case highlights the efficacy of simultaneous LCLC and soft tissue reconstruction using a non-vascularized iliotibial tract graft along with an ALT flap in patients with extensive soft tissue defects requiring LCLC reconstruction around the elbow.

Introduction: Erysipelas is a common disease in the emergency department, whereas necrotising soft tissue infections (NSTIs) are rare but more severe. The study aimed to investigate the prevalence, incidence, population-based incidence rate, one-year mortality and clinical presentation of erysipelas and NSTIs, and the aetiology, treatment and recurrence of erysipelas.
Methods: This was a population-based cohort study including acute non-trauma patients ≥ 18 years old with erysipelas or NSTIs from the Region of Southern Denmark in the period from 1 January 2016 to 19 March 2018.

Oral and maxillofacial space infection (OMSI) progresses rapidly, and when combined with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), it can become a serious and life-threatening condition. Cases of OMSI with concurrent DKA are relatively rare. This case report describes a young man who developed OMSI caused by methicillin-resistant in the setting of DKA.

Synovial sarcomas are rare malignant soft tissue tumors with significant metastatic potential. Although they can occur in various parts of the body, they are most commonly found on the extremities. These tumors typically develop in children and young adults, making occurrences in individuals over 50 years of age unusual.
