Background And Objectives: Explore whether community social capital measures (system of resources available to individuals through community engagement) are related to surgical outcomes among intracranial tumor patients.
Methods: Adults who underwent resection at a single medical center for intracranial tumor was identified and their zip codes were matched to three variables derived from the Social Capital Atlas: economic connectedness, volunteering rate, and civic organizations. The economic connectedness score quantifies the degree to which low-income and high-income community members are friends with each other, the volunteering rate is defined as the proportion of a given community engaged in community organizations and the civic organization score is defined as the number of local civic organizations within a given community.

Background: Apple pomace (AP), a byproduct of apple processing, is nutrient-rich, and its properties are influenced by both the quality of the apples and the juice extraction process. Drying technology can enhance its economic utilization. This study compared the effects of industrial drum drying (ID) and laboratory hot-air drying, heat pump drying and freeze drying (FD) on the physicochemical, functional and structural properties of from-concentrate AP (FC-AP) and not-from-concentrate AP (NFC-AP).

Electrotechnology has recently emerged as an eco-friendly method for enhancing microalgal processes. Electric fields can be applied to microalgae at different stages to improve their biomass productivity, high-value products (HVPs) content, harvesting efficiency, and cell disruption for biomolecule recovery. Incorporating them into microalgal processes can significantly contribute to achieving a circular bioeconomy.

Objective: To explore the role of prostate health index (PHI) and its derivatives for early screening in patients with PI-RADS score 3 and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels of 4-20 μg/L.
Methods: Clinical data of 203 patients with a score of 3 on the PI-RADS v2.1 scoring system who underwent ultrasound-guided transperineal prostate aspiration biopsy from April 2021 to April 2024 from Provincial Hospital of Shandong First Medical University, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University and Weifang People's Hospital were collected.
