Cannabidiol (CBD) and 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the two main components of cannabis that provide its therapeutic benefits. CBD has been extensively studied for its role in reducing seizures, among its many other uses. While the exact mechanisms by which CBD works to relieve seizures have not yet been fully determined, it is evident that CBD effectively diminishes seizure activity and is now being used as an approved treatment for severe forms of non-responsive epilepsy. As essential components of several biological processes, microRNAs (miRNAs) are crucial for achieving optimal cellular functioning. During the past few years, there has been an increasing interest in elucidating the functional significance of microRNAs in epilepsy. Yet, there is still considerable ambiguity regarding the precise mechanisms by which miRNAs are involved in seizure disorders and also their direct interaction with CBD. Herein, we seek to present an overview of the varying mechanisms by which CBD offers therapeutic benefits concerning seizures. Accordingly, we highlighted the shared molecular targets between microRNAs and CBD in alleviating seizure symptoms to shed light on the ways in which new therapeutic and diagnostic modalities could be shaped in the future.

Introduction: Risperidone is approved for behaviors and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), despite modest efficacy and known risks. Identifying responsive symptoms, treatment modifiers, and predictors is crucial for personalized treatment.
Method: A one-stage individual participant data meta-analysis of six randomized controlled trials (risperidone: n = 1009; placebo: N = 712) was conducted.

Background: A DNA barcode is a short DNA fragment used to classify and identify specific organisms, taking advantage of the specificity and diversity inherent in biological molecules. Since Herbert introduced the concept in 2003, DNA barcoding has been increasingly used in precision medicine and related fields, including species identification and environmental monitoring, over the past few decades. Although numerous molecular diagnostic techniques have emerged, many face notable obstacles such as sensitivity to handling conditions, high expenses, and limitations in accuracy.

Precursor plasma cell disorders include monoclonal gammopathy of undermined significance (MGUS) and smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM). These conditions carry a variable risk of progression to symptomatic myeloma and there are ongoing efforts to improve risk stratification to identify patients that are at highest risk of progression. Advanced imaging plays a crucial role in diagnosis and monitoring, and more sensitive tools to measure serum monoclonal proteins and circulating tumor cells are being developed.

Effective therapy for patients suffering from refractory angina remains a major unmet need. Chronic angina, which is refractory to medical and interventional therapies, affects patients who are not suitable for revascularization, patients following successful revascularization, and patients with coronary microvascular dysfunction. Coronary sinus (CS) narrowing has been studied as a potential therapy for patients with angina.
