Article Abstract

Compared to natural enzymes, which are prone to deactivation, require expensive purification processes, and have stringent storage demands, nanozymes demonstrate superior stability, cost-efficiency, and customizable catalytic performance. In this study, AuPt@ZIF-67 nano-enzyme composites with high catalytic activity were constructed by loading Au and Pt nanoparticles onto zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67). Capitalizing on the porous structure of ZIF-67 and the electronic synergy between the Au-Pt bimetallic components, the material demonstrated exceptional peroxidase-like activity. Harnessing the engineered properties of this advanced nanomaterial, a flow-injection chemiluminescence immunoassay (FI-CLIA) platform was prepared to achieve ultrarapid and ultrasensitive monitoring of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) in foodstuffs. Experimental results indicated a linear dynamic range of 0.002-1000 ng mL for AFB1 quantification, achieving an ultralow detection limit of 0.68 pg mL (S/N = 3). The spiked recovery rates for corn and wheat samples ranged from 81.5% to 110.3%. The findings indicate that this method exhibits significant applicability prospects for AFB1 detection in actual sample analysis.

New evidence has revealed ambient fine particulate matter < 2.5 μm (PM) may have endocrine disrupting effect, such as thyroid hormone disorder, while which PM constituents contributed to the effect was debatable. The study aimed to identify the specific PM constituents regarding to acute endocrine disrupting effect.

Background: Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma characterized by the proliferation of B-cells. Severe hyperleukocytosis is an uncommon presentation that can complicate the diagnosis and management of MCL.

Methods: We present the case of an 80-year-old male patient suffering from MCL, who exhibited symptoms including severe hyperleukocytosis, lymphadenopathy, and significant bone marrow infiltration.

Background: The white cell precursor (WPC) channel of the Sysmex XN-series hematology analyzer, which is designed for blast detection, showed reduced sensitivity for blast detection in leukopenic patients undergoing chemotherapy. This study aimed to evaluate the gating region for apoptotic blasts in the WPC scattergram to enhance detection sensitivity.

Methods: NOMO-1 cells, a human acute monoblastic leukemia cell line, were treated with varying concentrations of cytarabine (0, 100, 500, and 1,000 nM) for three days to induce apoptosis.

The diagnosis of chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), a congenital immunodeficiency affecting phagocyte function, remains a challenge for patients in Latin America. It is well established that dihydrorhodamine (DHR) flow cytometry is the most commonly used screening assay; however, few pediatric immunology centers in Brazil perform this test. This study reports data from a routine diagnostic workup for CGD conducted at a Brazilian children's hospital.
