Article Abstract

This study investigated the solubility of AH Plus Bioceramic sealer (AHPB), the ion release, and the modification of surface characteristics compared to AH Plus (AHP). Solubility was examined according to ISO guidelines in deionised water and phosphate buffer saline (PBS) for 3 months. Surface characteristics and elemental analysis were conducted with scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, while ion release was determined with ICP-OES. In PBS, solubility values were significantly lower than those recorded in deionised water for both materials (p < 0.05). Upon the AHPB sealer surface, crystalline structures developed that differed in composition, dependent on the immersion solution, whereas no crystal formations were observed on AHP. Calcium ion release of AHPB was significantly higher than AHP throughout the whole study period (p = 0.028). Immersion solution significantly affected solubility and superficial characteristics of materials, highlighting the need to modify experimental protocols to resemble clinical conditions.

Background: Knee osteoarthritis (OA) causes pain and diminishes quality of life. Backward walking exercise (BWE) has been shown to improve lower muscle strength and reduce knee adduction moment, making it a recommended intervention for knee OA rehabilitation. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of BWE combined with conventional rehabilitation programs on pain intensity and disability among individuals with knee OA.

Department of Fashion and Textile Design, College of Arts and Design, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In this paper, lignin was chemically extracted from fibers and modified with branched polyethyleneimine (BPEI) and the resulting samples were applied for the adsorption of two anionic dyes; Acid red 183 (AR183) and Acid blue 25 (AB25) from aqueous suspension. Analytical characterization methods including SEM, FT-IR, TGA/DTG, and XRD were used to analyze the studied samples. The images of the extracted lignin displayed a rough feature.

School of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, 510641, China.

Recently, flexible airflow sensors have attracted significant attention due to their impressive characteristics and capabilities for airflow sensing. However, the development of high-performance flexible airflow sensors capable of sensing airflow over large areas remains a challenge. In this work, it is proposed that a hair-like flexible airflow sensor, based on laser direct writing and electrostatic flocking, offers an efficient technology for airflow sensing.
