A subset of patients with group 1 pulmonary hypertension (PH) have superimposed left heart abnormalities with unclear metabolic implications. To compare serum/transpulmonary metabolome between group 1 PH stratified by heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) probability. Patients with group 1 PH were stratified into low (<25%) and high (⩾75%) HFpEF-ABA (age, body mass index, and atrial fibrillation) probability, with healthy control subjects and subjects with clinical HFpEF used for comparison of venous and transpulmonary metabolomics.

Background: Intrauterine fetal growth restriction (IUGR) affects up to 10% of all pregnancies. Severe IUGR is associated with impaired kidney development, reduced nephron endowment, and chronic kidney disease later in life. Currently, no early predictive biomarker exists for detecting altered kidney function in neonates with IUGR.

Background: This prospective clinical study aims to investigate the fluctuations of neurotransmitters in peripheral venous blood during the perioperative period and to identify independent predictors for postoperative neurogenic pulmonary oedema (NPE) in patients with medulla oblongata-involved tumours.
Materials And Methods: Peripheral venous blood samples of the enroled patients at seven perioperative time points, as well as their medical records and radiologic data were collected. High-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry was utilized to detect the concentrations of 39 neurotransmitters in these samples.
