Article Abstract

Purpose: Stroke survivors often report unmet rehabilitation needs. Digital care has become increasingly prevalent, but limited research has explored its role in stroke rehabilitation, particularly from perspectives of people with chronic stroke. This study aims to explore how people with stroke perceive the usage of digital technologies in post-stroke rehabilitation.

Methods: A qualitative study was conducted from June 2022 to January 2023, encompassing semi-structured interviews with 17 stroke participants recruited from a Norwegian rehabilitation hospital. Reflexive thematic analysis was applied.

Results: Two themes were generated 1) "Still digitally connected" Digitalisation and its impact on everyday life and rehabilitation services, and 2) "To bring people closer" The need for personal contact and responsibility in digital rehabilitation services. Participants continued using digital technologies in rehabilitation and recognised digital self-management tools as beneficial for exercising and gaining information in the stroke process. They used various technologies to stay connected to the rehabilitation network, such as video-consultations, apps and exergaming.

Conclusions: This study highlights the importance of digital tools in managing the individuals' rehabilitation post-stroke. Digital technologies have the potential to deliver an interactive and person-centred rehabilitation service between healthcare professionals and people with stroke, but evaluation of technology use challenges after stroke is emphasised.

All-In-One Iontronic Sensing Aligner for High-Precision 3D Orthodontic Force Monitoring.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

Clear aligners offer aesthetic and comfort advantages in orthodontics, yet their ability to deliver effective forces relies heavily on empirical judgment or large-scale optical scanning, lacking real-time quantitative evaluation. Integrating pressure sensors into aligners is a promising solution, but challenges in miniaturization, multi-dimensional sensing, measurement accuracy, and biocompatibility hinder clinical application. Here, an all-in-one Orthodontic Force Acquisition System (OFAS) is presented that enables real-time, 3D force monitoring using a cross-shaped iontronic sensing array and an origami-inspired, wireless battery-free readout circuit miniaturized for single-tooth placement.

Dissecting the Molecular Determinants of α-synuclein Phase Separation and Condensate Aging: The Pivotal Role of β-Sheet-Rich Motifs.

Emerging evidence indicates that liquid-liquid phase separation of α-synuclein occurs during the nucleation step of its aggregation, a pivotal step in the onset of Parkinson's disease. Elucidating the molecular determinants governing this process is essential for understanding the pathological mechanisms of diseases and developing therapeutic strategies that target early-stage aggregation. While previous studies have identified residues critical for α-synuclein amyloid formation, the key residues and molecular drivers of its phase separation remain largely unexplored.

Real-world data are routinely collected data associated with patient health status or delivery of health care from sources including patient registries, electronic health records (EHRs), medical claims data, or digital health technologies. Real-world evidence is generated from specified clinical real-world data and includes evidence of the use, benefits, and risks of a medical product. Analysis of real-world data is the basis of real-world evidence to support the use and potential benefits or risks of a medical product.

Large language models (LLMs) represent a transformative advance in artificial intelligence, with growing potential to impact chronic kidney disease (CKD) management. CKD is a complex, highly prevalent condition requiring multifaceted care and substantial patient engagement. Recent developments in LLMs-including conversational AI, multimodal integration, and autonomous agents-offer novel opportunities to enhance patient education, streamline clinical documentation, and support decision-making across nephrology practice.
