A 3-year-old girl with a large ductus arteriosus had increased pulmonary vascular resistance at cardiac catheterisation. Test occlusion of the ductus arteriosus with a Nit-Occlud PDA-R device and hyperoxia decreased the pulmonary arterial pressure to < 50% of systemic level. The ductus was closed with the same device. Two years later, an echocardiogram showed normal pulmonary arterial pressure.

This study is aimed at evaluating the cumulative effect of postnatal risk factors on the survival of preterm neonates by examining key clinical parameters and complications across various gestational ages. A retrospective cohort study was conducted using data from 1109 neonates admitted to neonatal intensive care units at two tertiary regional hospitals in Kazakhstan between 2021 and 2024. Patients were classified into three groups based on gestational age: extremely preterm (< 28 weeks, = 223), very preterm (28-31 weeks, = 384), and moderate to late preterm (32-36 weeks, = 502).

Background: This study aimed to determine the optimal dosages of prostaglandin E1 required to maintain a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in infants with transposition of the great arteries (TGA) based on point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) findings.
Methods: Infants with TGA were recruited from two groups (the historical control group and the POCUS group that received POCUS in combination with pulse oximetry saturation (SpO) to titrate the dose of prostaglandin E1 (PGE1)).
Results: A total of 150 patients were included in this study.
