Background: Chronic vulvovaginal discomfort (CVD) is a complex syndrome with many unresolved questions regarding its etiology, diagnosis, and management in relation to the vaginal microbiota.
Methods: Cervicovaginal fluid of 91 CVD patients and 35 healthy controls was obtained at the beginning and end of the follow-up period. The bacterial community state types (CST) in the vagina were assessed using next-generation sequencing (NGS).

Metronidazole is a potent antibiotic often prescribed to treat gastrointestinal enteropathies, but is known to induce loose stools, negatively alter the fecal microbiome, and affect fecal metabolites. Dietary intervention may aid in the recovery following antibiotic cessation, but little research has been conducted regarding the potential of fiber utilization for microbial recovery in canines. Using an in vitro fermentation assay, the objective of this study was to investigate the fermentation characteristics of dietary fibers using fecal inocula from dogs treated with metronidazole.

Antibiotics are widely used to treat infectious diseases, yet antibiotic therapy has been shown to disrupt symbiotic microbiota. Notably, the dosage and duration of antibiotic use for specific infections may exert detrimental effects on microbiota in non-infected sites. Here, we propose a dual-channel probiotic delivery strategy to address gut and vaginal dysbiosis caused by antibiotic therapies.

Background: Extreme humidity exacerbates gastrointestinal disorders by disrupting gut microbiota homeostasis, compromising the intestinal barrier and triggering immune dysregulation. Coix seed ( L.), widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for eliminating dampness, shows promise; however, its mechanisms require further elucidation.
