IntroductionThe use of digital solutions including patient-reported outcomes is limited to follow-up of patients with established diagnoses but is rarely used as first step of the diagnostic process substituting a personal contact with a health professional. We report on the diagnostic validity and cost per patient implications based on a feasibility study of a new virtual diagnostic service (VDS) for common neurological sleep disorders that, as a first step, involves the collection and automated analysis of self-reported digital patient data.MethodsThe VDS was established at the Odense University Hospital, Denmark.

Purpose: The combination of multi-layer flat panel detector (FPDT) X-ray imaging and physics-based material decomposition algorithms allows for the removal of anatomical structures. However, the reliability of these algorithms may be compromised by unaccounted materials or scattered radiation.
Approach: We investigated the two-material decomposition performance of a multi-layer FPDT in the context of 2D chest radiography without and with a 13:1 anti-scatter grid employed.

Spectroscopic soft sensors are developed by combining spectral data with chemometric modeling, and offer as Process Analytical Technology (PAT) tools powerful insights into biopharmaceutical processing. In this study, soft sensors based on Raman spectroscopy and linear or partial least squares (PLS) regression were developed and successfully transferred to a filtration-based recovery step of precipitated virus-like particles (VLPs). For near real-time monitoring of product accumulation and precipitant depletion, the dual-stage cross-flow filtration (CFF) set-up was equipped with an on-line loop in the second membrane stage.

Background: Identifying and understanding different dyslipidemia patterns is crucial for maintaining the cardiovascular health of older adults. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the dyslipidemia profiles of the elderly population from communities in an Eastern Chinese province, focusing on dyslipidemia subtypes and patterns, and exploring the associated demographic and health-related factors.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in communities in an Eastern Chinese province.

Introduction: Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), known as Willis-Ekbom disease, is a common neurological condition that often goes undiagnosed, especially in children. Characterized by an irresistible urge to move the legs, it is typically more pronounced in the evening and at rest. Growing Pains (GP), common in childhood and associated with migraine, present apparently overlapping symptoms with RLS, making it sometimes difficult to distinguish between the two.
