We aimed to describe long-term use trajectories and predictors prior to recreational cannabis legalization in people with HIV in Ontario, Canada. We analysed interview data from the prospective Ontario HIV Treatment Network Cohort Study from 2008 to 2017. We conducted Latent Class Growth Analyses to describe cannabis use trajectories and chi-square tests to identify trajectory group predictors. Most participants ( = 3,299) were male (81%), gay (57%), current/former tobacco smokers (58%), and many had significant symptoms of depression (43%). Four cannabis use trajectory groups were identified (Low/No Use (67%); Increased Use (4%); Decreased use (2%); High Use (26%)). Relative to the Low/No Use group, membership in the High Use group was associated with several predictors such as being older age, completing university, smoking tobacco, and significant depressive symptoms. Future research should explore the relationship between cannabis use and depressive symptoms, outcomes associated with trajectory groups and changes in use trajectories following recreational legalization.

Background: Greece encountered unique COVID-19-pandemic-related challenges, shaped by the country's previous deleterious economic context, an already strained healthcare system and possibly one of Europe's earliest, longest and most stringent restrictive protocols.
Objectives: To offer comprehensive insights into the longitudinal trajectory of a broad range of behavioral and coping parameters within general adult Greek population across the first two pandemic waves.
Methods: Multiple-wave, cross-sectional data from the "Collaborative Outcomes study on Health and Functioning during Infection Times" (COH-FIT) assessed four different time points in order to examine outcomes changes from retrospective, pre-pandemic baseline ratings (T0) to three distinct intra-pandemic time points (lockdown 1: T1, between lockdowns: T2, lockdown 2: T3).

Increases in adolescent loneliness were a significant concern during the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic. We use longitudinal survey data from the Cannabis Use, Obesity, Mental Health, Physical Activity, Alcohol Use, Smoking, and Sedentary Behavior study from 2017 to 2023 to assess whether increases in loneliness correspond to lockdowns, whether different cohorts differ in the trajectories of loneliness ratings and whether social support and relationships impact the course of loneliness throughout secondary school. We compared linear latent growth models and latent basis growth models of annual repeated measures of loneliness from three 4-year cohorts of Canadian high school students ( = 5,237, female = 3,166, 80.

Cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS) is a paradoxical condition seen in chronic cannabis users, marked by recurrent nausea, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort. Although more widely recognized in emergency medicine, CHS remains underdiagnosed in the perioperative setting, where its symptoms may be misattributed to common postoperative phenomena such as anesthetic effects, opioid-induced nausea, or surgical complications. This diagnostic gap can delay appropriate management and lead to unnecessary interventions.

Background: The horticultural nature of growing cannabis is often overlooked in the study of cannabis production, and subsequent policies. Little is known about whether growers' horticultural expertise influences cannabis cultivation methods, the growing of other psychoactive plants, substance use behaviors, or interactions with the criminal justice system. The trajectory of cultivation, in terms of whether cannabis is a gateway to more general gardening, or vice versa, is also unexplored.

Sexual assault (SA) is highly prevalent in the United States, especially among young women. One of the consequences of SA is increased substance use, with extant studies focusing heavily on alcohol. There is sparse literature examining the associations between SA and cannabis use, despite the growing prevalence of cannabis.
