Objective: Androgens have been prescribed to alleviate symptoms in midlife women, but evidence regarding benefits and risks remains limited, with no clearly established indications for Testosterone therapy. In many Latin American countries, Testosterone is prescribed without specific guidelines, making it difficult to identify patients who might benefit. This position statement aims to summarize evidence and provide a Latin American perspective on androgen therapy in midlife and older women.

Background & Aims: Previous studies showed that combination treatment with short interfering RNA JNJ-73763989 (JNJ-3989) ± capsid assembly modulator bersacapavir (JNJ-56136379) and nucleos(t)ide analogs (NAs) was well tolerated by patients with chronic HBV (CHB), with JNJ-3989 dose-dependent reductions in viral markers, including HBsAg. The open-label, single-arm phase IIa PENGUIN study (NCT04667104) evaluated this regimen plus pegylated interferon alpha-2a (PegIFN-α2a) in patients with virologically suppressed CHB.

Methods: Patients who were either HBeAg-positive or -negative virologically suppressed and taking NAs were included; all received JNJ-3989 ± bersacapavir for 24 weeks (some either did not start or discontinued bersacapavir as a result of protocol amendment) with PegIFN-α2a added during the final 12 weeks of treatment.

Novel therapeutic approaches on molecular pathways are being developed to treat inflammatory and autoimmune cutaneous dermatoses. Apremilast is an orally administered small-molecule phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor that upregulates intracellular cyclic 3',5'-adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels to mediate a large array of proinflammatory cytokines as well as exerts its anti-inflammatory functions and therapeutic efficacy in skin diseases rather than an immunosuppressive mode of action. Early-phase clinical trials have demonstrated its favorable efficacy such that the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has approved its use for the treatment of psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and Behçet's syndrome.

Introduction: Biofeedback is a non-pharmacological treatment option valued for its minimal risk of adverse events and offers a safe alternative for individuals seeking preventive care for migraine. Despite level A evidence for migraine prevention, biofeedback treatment is still unavailable to most patients. We developed a novel medical device (Cerebri) for multimodal biofeedback treatment that omits the need for healthcare personnel involvement.
