The complement system is a key component of the innate immune system. In antiacetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibody-positive (Ab+) generalized myasthenia gravis (MG), complement activation has long been considered a principal driver of pathology. Understanding the role of complement in AChR-Ab+ generalized MG has gained increasing importance in recent years, as anticomplement drugs have been approved for clinical use or are undergoing phase II/III clinical trials. This review aims to discuss recent and previous findings on the role of complement in AChR-Ab+ MG pathology, including its interaction with pathogenic antibodies and mechanisms beyond the classical pathway activation.

The brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens is a typical pesticide-induced resurgent rice pest. A previous study showed that a fungicide, jinggangmycin (JGM)-treated rice led to markedly increased sugar content and (Insulin-like Peptide 2) ILP2 in response to sugar-mediated TOR signaling and stimulated fecundity in BPH. However, the role of the other ILPs in response to types of carbohydrate compounds remained poorly understood.

Background: Nurses with research- and practice-focused doctorate degrees complement each other's work and contribute to the advancement of nursing profession. Understanding perceived scholarly collaboration and its influencing factors can facilitate effective teamwork, benefit the nursing profession, and improve patient outcomes.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the perceived scholarly collaboration and its influencing factors among nurses with or pursing doctoral degrees.

Purpose: To report on the real-world experience of using intravitreal pegcetacoplan for the treatment of geographic atrophy (GA) in age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Design: Retrospective interventional case series.
Methods: Eyes with symptomatic GA secondary to AMD were treated with 15mg of intravitreal pegcetacoplan and participated in an ongoing prospective swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA) imaging study.

Ammonium (NH) toxicity significantly limits nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) in agriculture. Nitrate (NO) supplementation mitigates this toxicity, with the anion channel SLAH3 playing a central role by mediating NO efflux to counteract NH-induced rhizosphere acidification. SLAH3, a plasma membrane protein with ten transmembrane domains and cytosolic N- and C-termini, is intrinsically silent.

The complement system plays a paradoxical role in systemic lupus erythematosus physiopathology, acting both as a protective mechanism and as a driver of tissue injury, depending on disease stage. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) further exacerbate disease activity by promoting complement activation and autoantigen exposure, forming an amplifying inflammatory loop. Lupus nephritis remains challenging to monitor using conventional complement biomarkers such as CH50, C3, and C4; the utility of anti-C1q, anti-ficolin, and anti-C1s antibodies, along with tissue-based markers such as renal C4d and C5b-9 deposits, as markers of disease activity and prognosis, is discussed.
