Qu-aroma is a critical quality indicator for medium-high temperature Daqu (MT-Daqu). Due to the differences in regional and environmental conditions, these differences are likely to cause variations in the Qu-aroma of MT-Daqu. Despite this, comprehensive research on the variations in Qu-aroma across different regions has been lacking. This study aims to address this gap to analyze the differences in Qu-aroma characteristics of MT-Daqu from seven distinct production areas. Sensory analysis identified seven broad aroma categories and 25 specific aromas characterizing the Qu-aroma of MT-Daqu samples. Chen aroma and roasted aroma were notably more prevalent in MT-Daqu samples from Sichuan compared to those from other regions (P < 0.05). In total, 123 volatile compounds were detected in MT-Daqu, with 42 classified as aroma-active compounds. Among these, 21 aroma-active compounds were identified as markers distinguishing Sichuan MT-Daqu from those produced in non-Sichuan regions, showing significant differences in their concentrations (P < 0.05). Additionally, six major aroma-active compounds were found to significantly contribute to the aroma differences between Sichuan and non-Sichuan MT-Daqu. This study delineates the distinct Qu-aroma characteristics of MT-Daqu from various SAB production areas. The insights gained from this research offer valuable guidance for optimizing flavor profiles in MT-Daqu production.

The dissolution of CO in oilfield produced water causes severe pipeline corrosion and economic losses, highlighting the critical need for medium-high temperature corrosion inhibitors for carbon steel protection. Imidazoline derivative corrosion inhibitors S4-C7 (thiophene-imidazoline octanamide), S4-C9 (thiophene-imidazoline decanamide), S4-C11 (thiophene-imidazoline lauramide) and S4-C13 (thiophene-imidazoline myristamide) with different carbon chain lengths were synthesized by modifying thiophene-imidazoline with different organic acids. At medium-high temperatures, weight loss measurements, electrochemical tests, surface morphology analysis, and theoretical calculations were employed to investigate their inhibition performances and mechanisms in CO-containing solutions.

Multimetal nanoparticles, including medium- and high-entropy spinel ferrites (MESF/HESFs), are of significant interest, but large-scale production with high monodispersity remains challenging and poorly documented. Traditional synthesis methods balance simplicity and quality, with thermal decomposition being optimal for scalable, uniform nanoparticle production. However, its utility is limited by costly and sensitive precursors like acetylacetonates and carbonyls, or oleates, which require tedious synthesis, are hard to handle, and are moisture-sensitive, impacting nanoparticle quality.

In this paper, a strain-temperature sensor with medium-high stretchability is proposed for aeronautic applications. The elastomer is conceived to be used as a protective cover on a morphing airfoil characterized by high curvatures. The main novelties in design and manufacturing compared to the state of the art are: use of a non-commercial, low-viscosity PDMS crosslinked with TEOS and DBTDL to enable effective graphene dispersion; innovative sensor design featuring an insulating interlayer on the substrate; and presence of micro-voids to enhance adhesion to the substrate.

To ensure efficient links over such vast distances, a beam divergence of 3 µrad at 850 nm is required-posing significant challenges in designing lightweight, large-aperture telescope systems and detecting ultra-narrow divergence angles. Here, through analysis using a far-field diffraction model, we determined that the optimal aperture should be 660 mm and that the RMS wavefront aberration must be controlled to 1/9 at 632.

Medium-high-hydrostatic-pressure (MHHP) treatment can induce the spore to germinate via activating the germination receptor, subsequently resulting in the loss of the heat resistance of the spore and finally killing the germinated spore, although the ungerminated spore, even after MHHP treatment, can survive. This study aims to clarify the pasteurization effect of the combination of MHHP treatment with post-/pre-heating treatment on spores suspended in soy milk as a food model. Regarding the results, the D value, as a known heat resistance indicator of the MHHP-treated spore, decreased in comparison with the untreated spore.
