Few studies have focused on the experiences of adult-daughter caregivers (daughter caregivers), who may have increased risk of depression and lack of support compared with spousal caregivers. Research on the relatives' well-being during the critical time point when their family member is hospitalized in an acute psychiatric hospital is still lacking. Therefore, we investigated psychological well-being, care-related burden, and communication challenges of 67 relatives of older patients with dementia (RPwD) versus 60 relatives of older patients with a psychiatric disorder (RPP) at the time of hospitalization. RPwD reported significantly higher levels of depression and care-related burden compared to RPP (there was a similar non-significant trend for anxiety).

Introduction: Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are a priority in the public health agenda for Côte d'Ivoire, with persons living with disabilities due to NTDs (PD-NTDs) experiencing many challenges in their daily lives. Current policies do not sufficiently support PD-NTDs, thereby highlighting the need to identify opportunities for policy improvement.
Methods: This study was carried out in two phases: first to identify the current needs (formative phase) and then to develop a pilot strategy (implementation phase).

Background: Children in low- and middle-income countries face obstacles to optimal language and cognitive development due to a variety of factors related to adverse socioeconomic conditions. One of these factors is compromised caregiver-child interactions and associated pressures on parenting. Early development interventions, such as dialogic book-sharing (DBS), address this variable, with evidence from both high-income countries and urban areas of low- and middle-income countries showing that such interventions enhance caregiver-child interaction and the associated benefits for child cognitive and socioemotional development.
