Article Abstract

The sluggish charging and restricted mass transfer of cobalt-based sulfides have provoked in cycling stability, poor rate, and low initial coulombic efficiency, impeding their practical application. Developing electronic configurations and heterostructures are effective methods to improve conductivity and accelerate mass transfer. In this work, heterostructured carbon/cobalt sulfides embedded in honeycomb-like nitrogen-doped carbon (HC@CoS/CoS/NC) were proposed as a cost-effective strategy. These composites feature interconnected channels, facilitating rapid electron transport and efficient electrolyte diffusion. This self-induced internal electric field design of HC@CoS₂/CoS/NC enhanced the charge movement, inherent conductivity and optimized the electrochemical kinetics as anode materials. Theoretical calculations indicate that the development of heterostructures with self-induced internal electric fields is crucial for improving the charge particle/electron movement during the charge-discharge cycles of sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), leading to enhanced Na diffusion. This anode demonstrated a high specific capacity of 809.0 mAh g at 0.1 A g, retaining a capacity of 465.2 mAh g after 700 cycles at 15 A g. When paired with NaV(PO), the full-cell maintained a specific capacity of 108.9 mAh g after 200 cycles at 1.0 A g. This research presents an effective approach for developing transitional metal sulfide heterostructures as high-performance anode materials for SIBs.

Background: Functional dyspepsia (FD) is one of the most common disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBI). Varying reported population prevalences probably reflect different definitions and methodological approaches.

Aim: To study the prevalence and impact of FD and its subgroups in an internet survey.

Wide-bandgap (WBG) perovskite solar cells (PSCs), due to their tunable bandgap, can be integrated into tandem cell configurations with narrow-bandgap solar cells to overcome the shockley-queisser (SQ) limitation. However, the main obstacles limiting their performance are poor crystallinity and light-induced halide segregation. To achieve high performance in WBG PSCs, this study reports a dual-molecule cooperative strategy involving the introduction of 1-benzyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide (BzMIM Br) as an additive and the introduction of 6-fluoropyrimidine-2,4- diamine (DMFP) as a passivation layer.

Article Synopsis
  • Myositis is a rare autoimmune disorder causing chronic muscle inflammation, leading to weakness, fatigue, and pain, with possible complications in other organs like the gastrointestinal tract.
  • The case series discusses two patients with polymyositis and dermatomyositis who experienced dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) as a complication, which required specialized assessments and treatments.
  • Effective management included intravenous immunoglobulin, immunosuppressants, and lifestyle changes, underscoring the need for a collaborative, personalized approach in treating myositis-related upper GI issues for better patient outcomes.

In the pediatric population, foreign bodies within the urinary bladder are uncommon, typically resulting from urethral insertion out of curiosity. Other etiologies include sexual assault, iatrogenic factors, or migration from adjacent sites. Symptoms such as urinary retention, dysuria, increased frequency, decreased volume, nocturia, hematuria, painful erections, and pelvic pain are common.
