Purpose: To investigate injury mechanisms and vulnerable regions for severe pulmonary contusion (PC) in astronauts during off-nominal capsule landings, establishing critical injury thresholds.
Methods: Six distinct high-intensity landing scenarios (≤52.1 g) were simulated using a drop-tower test stand and a Hybrid III anthropometric test device(ATD).

Previous studies on the computational principle for solving the movement selection problem for the human arm have primarily focused on hand trajectories associated with the two-joint movements of the shoulder and elbow joints. Further, only a few computational models, that consider the musculoskeletal system, have been investigated. From this perspective, a minimum muscle-stress-change model was evaluated for the fingertip trajectories and arm postures during three-joint movements in the horizontal plane, including wrist joint rotation.

Introduction: Axial postural abnormality (APA) contains various forms and the progression patterns and clinical predictors for each APA remain unknown. We aimed to investigate the evolution of APA and elucidate its relationships to clinical picture in Parkinson's disease (PD).
Methods: 151 PD patients underwent anterior neck flexion (ANF), anterior trunk flexion (ATF) at thoracic and lumbar fulcrum, and lateral trunk flexion (LTF) assessments for 3 years.

Introduction: Impaired standing alignment and postural instability diminish health-related quality of life (HRQOL). Reduced trunk muscle mass is correlated with worsened spinal alignment and HRQOL in patients with spinal disease. However, the interplay among standing balance, whole-body alignment, muscle mass, and HRQOL remains unclear.

Impaired metabolic flexibility (MetFlex; the ability to regulate substrate oxidation) and sedentary behavior are both linked to cardiometabolic diseases, but the relationship between the two is not fully elucidated. This study investigated the effects of reduced sedentary time on MetFlex. Sixty-four sedentary adults with metabolic syndrome were randomized into intervention (INT, n = 33) and control (CON, n = 31) groups.
