Microbial agents represent a valuable class of additives that can enhance the value and effectiveness of compost products. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the mechanisms and applications of microorganisms in regulating lignocellulose degradation, controlling gas emissions, and managing typical pollutants during the composting of organic solid wastes. Inoculation with microbial agents can significantly improve the degradation efficiency, quality, and environmental friendliness of compost.

Background: Adverse drug reactions (ADR) present significant challenges in health care, where early prevention is vital for effective treatment and patient safety. Traditional supervised learning methods struggle to address heterogeneous health care data due to their unstructured nature, regulatory constraints, and restricted access to sensitive personal identifiable information.
Objective: This review aims to explore the potential of federated learning (FL) combined with natural language processing and large language models (LLMs) to enhance ADR prediction.

Mass spectrometry (MS) is an emerging tool in multiple myeloma that detects and quantifies monoclonal proteins in the peripheral blood with sensitivity several orders of magnitude greater than conventional serum protein electrophoresis and immunofixation. Both intact light chain (top-down) and clonotypic peptide (bottom-up) MS approaches have demonstrated sensitivity comparable to-or even surpassing-BM-based assessments using next generation flow cytometry or sequencing. However, due to the delayed clearance of paraproteins, MS may be less informative for early response assessment, underscoring the need to define the optimal timing for evaluation.

Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have emerged as promising candidates for combating drug-resistant pathogens and certain cancer types. However, their therapeutic applications are often limited by undesired hemolytic activity, while many AMPs exhibit only moderate potency. Herein, the "helical wheel rotation" strategy as a simple, cost-effective, and modular approach to optimize the pharmacological properties of amphipathic α-helical AMPs without altering their amino acid composition is explored.

The evaporation of surfactant-laden sessile droplets has widespread applications in both natural and technological contexts. This study explores the evaporation of droplets containing a nonionic surfactant (tristyrylphenol ethoxylates (EOT)), an anionic surfactant (sodium benzenesulfonate with alkyl chain lengths of C-C (NaDDBS)), and their mixtures at / mole ratios of 0.01, 0.
