Article Abstract

Surface pre-reacted glass (S-PRG) fillers, a new type of bioactive molecule, can release various ions (Al, BO, Na, SiO, Sr, and F) and exhibit high biocompatibility, good antibacterial properties, low plaque accumulation, and enhanced osteoblast differentiation. An alkali-treated titanium layer with a porous nanonetwork structure (TNS) promotes cell adhesion and produces a stronger osseointegration effect than that of a non-treated titanium layer. In this study, the osseointegration effect of TNS was enhanced by incorporating an S-PRG eluate solution. The efficiencies of TNS coatings with different S-PRG concentrations were determined by performing surface analysis, cell experiments, and animal experiments. The results revealed that the introduction of the S-PRG eluate solution promoted the osteogenic ability of TNS. The combination of these two materials offers a novel approach to the investigation of oral implant materials.

Stainless steel temporary anchorage device (SS TAD) has toxic risk due to the content that may be released when exposed to the oral environment, and the mouthwash being used. This research aims to analyze the cytotoxicity of SS TAD and measure the inflammation level in cells after exposure to three types of mouthwash. SS TADs ( = 28) were divided into four groups ( = 7 per group) and immersed in the following mouthwash solutions for 90 days.

An in-situ CO₂-assisted dispersive micro solid phase extraction was developed using a covalent organic framework synthesized from melamine and barbituric acid as a sorbent for the extraction of Cd(II) and Zn(II) ions from honey samples. The structural and morphological characteristics of the sorbent were evaluated using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry. The CO₂ generated by reacting tartaric acid and sodium hydrogen carbonate enabled rapid dispersion of the sorbent within the sample solution, ensuring optimal contact with the target ions.

The drying treatment of dissolved organic matter (DOM) eluate was often used to prepare DOM solutions for chemodiversity analysis using Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry. However, the effects of drying treatment on the chemodiversity of DOM have not been thoroughly investigated. In this study, vacuum freeze-drying and vacuum centrifuge drying resulted in approximately half and 10% loss of DOM mass loss, respectively.

This study aimed to investigate the underlying mechanism of action and further identify main active ingredient by which Radix Paeoniae Rubra extracts (RPRE) inhibited the cross-resistance to tetracycline (TET), piperacillin (PIP), and gentamicin (GEN) mediated by Rhizoma Coptidis extracts (RCE) in Staphylococcus aureus (SA). Treatment with mixed solutions of RCE and RPRE resulted in disappearance of TET, PIP, or GEN resistance compared to what was shown with RCE treatment alone. Fifteen relevant resistant genes (smrB, bmr3, nhoA, BTN44_15030, clpL, hisG, norA, fmtA_1, emrB_1, BTN44_07590, paiA, icaR, BTN44_13995, HMPREF0776_1664 and vraG) were significantly downregulated compared to the RCE-induced mutants.

In this work, for the first time, a new porous material was prepared from 1,3,5-benzene tricarboxylic acid with self-assembled method and then the synthesized material was utilized as a sorbent to extract some pesticides from grape juice samples. The synthesis of the sorbent was plainly and easy. The successful evaluation of the prepared sorbent was specified by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller nitrogen sorption/desorption, hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance, and scanning electron microscopy.
