Background: Tumefactive demyelination (TD) is a rare variant of multiple sclerosis (MS) characterized by tumor-like lesions that often require aggressive management. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) identified variants associated with MS; similar analyses in TD are lacking.

Objective: A GWAS was performed to identify variants associated with TD.

Introduction: Inflammatory cytokine disturbance is a prominent outcome of immune dysregulation, extensively documented in bipolar disorder (BD). However, observational studies have exhibited inconsistent findings, and the causal relationships between inflammatory factors and BD remain unclear. Hence, this study aimed to uncover the causality between circulating inflammatory cytokines and BD.

Genome-wide association study reveals candidate loci for resistance to anthracnose in blueberry.

Blueberry Breeding and Genomics Lab, Horticultural Sciences Department, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL 32611, USA.

Anthracnose, caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, poses a significant threat to blueberries, necessitating a deeper understanding of the genetic mechanisms underlying resistance to develop efficient breeding strategies. Here, we conducted a genome-wide association study on 355 advanced selections of southern highbush blueberry from the University of Florida Blueberry Breeding and Genomics Program. Visual scores and image analyses were used for assessing disease severity.

Nonexpressor of pathogenesis-related genes 1 (NPR1) is a master regulator of salicylic acid (SA)- facilitated plant hormone signaling and plays a crucial role in plant defense through the activation of systemic acquired resistance (SAR). Although like genes are associated with stress responses in a variety of plant species, no thorough genome-wide investigation of these genes has been undertaken in pearl millet (). This study discovered seven -like genes on four pearl millet chromosomes (Chr1, Chr2, Chr4, and Chr6), which exhibit close affinity to NPRs from other plants and have common gene structures, conserved motifs, and domains.

Background: Intracranial aneurysm (IA), known as pathological dilation of cerebral arteries, commonly occurring at bifurcating arteries, carries a high risk of severe morbidity and mortality if left untreated.Although the treatment and early diagnosis have significantly improved, the complex pathophysiological process of IA formation presents significant challenges in the development of targeted therapies.Efficient disease-modifying therapies for IA are not yet available.
