Despite the rapid growth of Food and Drug Administration-cleared artificial intelligence (AI)- and machine learning-enabled medical devices for use in radiology, current tools remain limited in scope, often focusing on narrow tasks and lacking the ability to comprehensively assist radiologists. These narrow AI solutions face limitations in financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and clinical utility, hindering widespread adoption and constraining their long-term value in radiology practice. Recent advances in generative and multimodal AI have expanded the scope of image interpretation, prompting discussions on the development of generalist medical AI.

Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols are increasingly used in total hip and knee arthroplasty to improve outcomes, reduce complications, and shorten hospital stays. This involves a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach covering the preoperative to postoperative period. This review explores the current literature on ERAS implementation in elective total hip arthroplasty (THA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA), focusing on clinical outcomes such as length of stay (LOS), opioid use, complications/readmissions, and other key components such as anesthetic standardization, use of opioid-sparing analgesia agents, early mobilization, and patient satisfaction.

Exhaled breath analysis offers noninvasive, early lung cancer detection via volatile organic compound (VOC) biomarkers, surpassing blood-based methods. Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is ideal for this purpose, combining molecular fingerprint specificity with single-molecule sensitivity. However, conventional SERS substrates face a fundamental limitation: while porous materials such as metal-organic frameworks effectively adsorb VOCs through their subnanometer pores (0.

Objective: Breast cancer remains the most prevalent cancer among females globally, with an alarming rise in incidence. Conventional treatments like chemotherapy face several limitations, necessitating innovative approaches. In this study, the efficacy of a novel chemo-/sonodynamic/photothermal triune therapy utilizing paclitaxel-loaded gold nanoparticles (PTX@GNPs) for MCF-7 breast cancer cells treatment was explored.

It has become evident from decades of clinical trials that multimodal therapeutic approaches with focus on cell intrinsic and microenvironmental cues are needed to improve understanding and treat the rare, inoperable, and ultimately fatal diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), now categorized as a diffuse midline glioma. In this study we report the development and characterization of an in vitro system utilizing 3D Tumor Tissue Analogs (TTA), designed to replicate the intricate DIPG microenvironment. The innate ability of fluorescently labeled human brain endothelial cells, microglia, and patient-derived DIPG cell lines to self-assemble has been exploited to generate multicellular 3D TTAs that mimic tissue-like microstructures, enabling an in- depth exploration of the spatio-temporal dynamics between neoplastic and stromal cells.
