Article Abstract

An anterior repositioning device is an occlusal device that has been commonly used to treat temporomandibular joint pain associated with internal joint derangement. The functional component of the device is a ramp that guides the mandible along its habitual arc of closure and then directs it to slide forward into the required position. Traditionally, impressions could not capture the closing path, leading to significant chair time during appliance insertion, as the ramp had to be manually adjusted. The present technique fully utilizes digital scans, including the recording of the closing path, to minimize chair time during appliance insertion.

Intraocular repair for subluxation of a multifocal intraocular lens (MFIOL) can be challenging, especially in toric models. Herein, we report a case of a 43-year-old man with a subluxated toric-type single-piece trifocal intraocular lens (IOL) with a C-loop that was spared using suture repositioning. Pars plana suturing was performed using the haptic externalization technique, and the tram-track suture technique was employed to flatten the tilted toric MFIOL.

Study Design: Retrospective review.

Objective: Examine the utility of intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) in anterior cervical spine procedures for myelopathy in informing intraoperative interventions.

Summary Of Background Data: The routine use of IONM in anterior cervical spine procedures for myelopathy remains controversial, with poorly defined indications and limited evidence validating protocols for managing intraoperative alerts.

The advent of the purpose-built da Vinci single-port robotic platform marks a pivotal advancement in minimally invasive urological surgery. Designed to overcome the ergonomic and technical limitations of prior single-site approaches, the single-port system enables complex procedures through a single incision, with enhanced dexterity, optimized use of confined spaces and improved cosmetic and peri-operative outcomes. The single-port system has been increasingly used across a wide range of urological indications, including robot-assisted radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, nephroureterectomy and reconstructive surgeries such as pyeloplasty and ureteral re-implantation.

Introduction And Importance: Hip dislocations excluding the anterior, posterior or central variety have rarely been published. We report an atypical and unclassifiable dislocation of the hip joint with incarceration of the capsule and labrum. The aim of the presentation was to describe an uncommon type of hip dislocation with entrapment of the soft tissue.

Triple-Lobe Cleft Ear Repair Using an Islandized Lobule Flap: A Novel Single-Stage Technique.

Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Osmaniye State Hospital, Osmaniye, Turkey.

The authors report a novel, single-stage surgical technique for the repair of a rare congenital triple-lobe cleft earlobe in a 13-year-old girl. The deformity was characterized by 3 distinct lobular segments: 1 anterior and 2 posterior (medial and lateral). Our technique utilizes a posteriorly based island flap derived from the anterior lobule and redistributes tissue volume by repositioning the medial and lateral posterior segments into a single unified lobe.
