Article Abstract

Introduction: Female pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is considered a borderline disease between urology and gynecology and is treated by reconstructive surgery, which restores the organs to their original positions.

Case Presentation: An 82-year-old woman with bladder and uterine prolapse at POP-Q Stage IV was treated with an indwelling catheter for voiding dysfunction. Eventually, the catheter has been often spontaneously removed when pelvic organ prolapse occurs, resulting in a diagnosis of bladder inversion. Because of bladder inversion and low bladder capacity at the time of bladder retraction, the patient underwent total cystectomy, combined with total hysterectomy, colpopexy, and posterior colporraphy, and ileal conduit.

Conclusion: The cases of complete bladder and uterine prolapse combined with bladder inversion, total hysterectomy, colpopexy, posterior colporraphy, and ileal conduit were performed safely. Considering urinary function, surgery without organ preservation with urinary diversion may be an option.

Background And Purpose: Neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by a wide range of clinical manifestations. GGC-repeat expansion in was recently identified as the genetic cause of NIID. Here we report clinical, radiological, pathological, and genetic findings in NIID patients.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine whether retrovesical fibromuscular structures-specifically the trapezoid interpubic ligament (TIPL)-mechanically restrict the inversion of small, non-growing bladder plates (SNGBP) in bladder exstrophy, and to evaluate bladder growth after one-stage closure with TIPL dissection, including the effect of anticholinergic therapy.

Materials And Methods: Between 2004 and 2023, 15 patients with SNGBP underwent one-stage bladder closure using a modified surgical approach with TIPL dissection. The TIPL, identified as a fibromuscular structure impeding bladder plate (BP) inversion, was targeted.

Article Synopsis
  • Long-distance pressurized pipeline water transmission is at risk of water hammer hazards, which can cause leaks or bursts due to excessive pressure.
  • Modeling calculations using KY PIPE software, paired with real project data, help analyze and address the consequences of pump water hammer stoppages.
  • Installing two-phase check valves, air valves, and water hammer relief valves proves effective in managing pressure and reducing surge tank volume, enhancing pipeline safety for similar projects.

Background: A significant proportion of trans women is demanding for a genital gender-affirming surgery, with vulvo-vaginoplasty being the most frequently requested procedure. The gold standard for primary vaginoplasty in trans women is the penile skin inversion technique with scrotal skin graft, which allows for increased depth of the vaginal cavity.

Aims: The assessment of vulvo-vaginoplasty outcomes utilizing penile skin inversion and scrotal skin graft in individuals assigned male at birth in the surgeon's learning curve involves evaluating aesthetics, functionality, and sexual aspects.
