There is an increasing interest in yeasts isolated from natural sources to be used as probiotics. -based probiotics have been proposed as a valid alternative to the conventional drug therapy for the prevention and treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis, also considering the resistance of some strains to many antifungals. Here, we isolated from an artisanal sourdough a new yeast strain which was identified as and assessed its probiotic and safety properties, which resulted in comparable properties to all those exhibited by the commercial probiotic . Then, we checked the antagonistic activity of the new isolate against some clinical fluconazole resistant strains, showing its ability to inhibit filamentation, biofilm formation, and the adhesion of to vaginal epithelial A-431 cells. Also, reduced the cell damage provoked by and the expression of and genes. On the whole, our results enlarge the spectrum of the beneficial properties of the food-grade yeast showing for the first time its biotherapeutic potential against .

Background: Multiplex gene-edited chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies face significant challenges, including potential oncogenic risks associated with double-strand DNA breaks. Targeted microRNAs (miRNAs) may provide a safer, functional, and tunable alternative for gene silencing without the need for DNA editing.
Methods: As a proof of concept for multiplex gene silencing, we employed an optimized miRNA backbone and gene architecture to silence T-cell receptor (TCR) and major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC-I) in mesothelin-directed CAR (M5CAR) T cells.

Purpose: To report on the real-world experience of using intravitreal pegcetacoplan for the treatment of geographic atrophy (GA) in age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Design: Retrospective interventional case series.
Methods: Eyes with symptomatic GA secondary to AMD were treated with 15mg of intravitreal pegcetacoplan and participated in an ongoing prospective swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA) imaging study.

Background: Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a frequent manifestation of connective tissue diseases (CTDs) and is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Clinical practice guidelines to standardise screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up for CTD-ILD are of high importance for optimised patient care.
Methods: A European Respiratory Society and European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology task force committee, composed of pulmonologists, rheumatologists, pathologists, radiologists, methodologists and patient representatives, developed recommendations based on PICO (Patients, Intervention, Comparison, Outcomes) questions with grading of the evidence according to the GRADE (Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluations) methodology and complementary narrative questions agreed on by both societies.

Polysorbate 80 (PS80), a vital stabilizer in biotherapeutic formulations, faces persistent oxidative degradation challenges that threaten drug product stability during storage. While PS80 instability has been studied for decades, the oxidation mechanisms in specific formulation-packaging systems remain poorly understood. This work resolves this knowledge gap by demonstrating that PS80 oxidative degradation occurs exclusively in histidine-buffered formulations stored in glass vials.
