Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is an inflammatory disorder of the sinonasal mucosa, predominantly characterized by epithelial dysfunction and chronic heterogeneous mucosal inflammation. CRSwNP and asthma are common comorbidities with overlapping pathophysiology, epithelial impairment and activation of downstream type 2 inflammation. Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) is an epithelial cytokine that sits at the top of the immunological cascade and initiates and amplifies type 2-dependent and -independent inflammatory responses.

Background: The clinical differentiation between obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome (OAPS) and undifferentiated connective tissue disease (UCTD) presents significant diagnostic challenges. This study employs metabolomics to investigate metabolic reprogramming patterns in OAPS and UCTD, aiming to identify potential biomarkers for early diagnosis.
Methods: Using LC-MS-based metabolomics, we analyzed serum profiles from 40 OAPS patients (B1), 30 OAPS + UCTD patients (B2), 27 UCTD patients (B3), and 30 healthy controls (A1).

Extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) is an immunomodulatory therapy currently used as an add-on treatment for the prevention and management of organ rejection in lung transplantation. Thanks to its immunomodulatory properties and its ability to reduce the need for immunosuppressive therapies, ECP presents a promising therapeutic option, especially for high-risk patients with comorbidities, infections, or malignancies. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the current indications, clinical experience, and ongoing research surrounding the use of ECP in lung transplantation.

Impaired clinical fracture healing remains a major challenge, with surgical treatment often insufficient in patients with metabolic disorders or comorbidities such as diabetes and osteoporosis. Recent advances in metabolomics have brought the Sirtuin protein family to the forefront of bone regeneration research. These NAD⁺-dependent deacetylases exhibit cell-specific expression and regulate critical processes in osteoblasts and osteoclasts, linking glucose metabolism with bone remodeling.

Extrapulmonary tuberculosis (TB), particularly when it involves the central nervous system (CNS), remains a significant clinical challenge. Cerebral tuberculoma, though rare, can present with complex symptoms that overlap with other neurological conditions, making timely diagnosis difficult. The condition demands a multidisciplinary approach for accurate diagnosis and effective management, especially in patients with multiple comorbidities.
