Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging has become a cornerstone in the diagnosis, risk stratification, and management of cardiovascular disease (CVD), particularly heart failure (HF) and cardiomyopathies. Renowned as the gold standard for non-invasive quantification of ventricular volumes and ejection fraction, CMR delivers superior spatial and temporal resolution with excellent tissue-blood contrast. Recent advancements, including T1, T2, and T2* mapping, extracellular volume quantification, and late gadolinium enhancement, enable precise tissue characterization, allowing early detection of myocardial changes such as fibrosis, edema, and infiltration. These features provide critical insights into the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying HF phenotypes and diverse cardiomyopathies, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and guiding therapeutic decisions. This review explores the expanding role of CMR in CV disease, highlighting its diagnostic value in HF and in several cardiomyopathies, as well as its contribution to improving patient outcomes through detailed tissue characterization and prognosis.

Cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome is a term that is increasingly used to describe interconnected conditions that lead to poor health outcomes, including cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. Historically, there have been very few targeted pharmacotherapies available that have changed cardiovascular outcomes for people with CKM syndromes; however, over the past decade, new pharmacologic options have rapidly expanded, with strong evidence for cardiovascular and kidney protective benefits in CKM conditions. Of note, sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors and glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists have emerged as key therapeutic options and are now widely guideline-endorsed.

Dysregulation of the RAF-MEK-ERK1/2 pathway is involved in the pathoetiology of many diseases. Its central role in cancer has led to the development of drugs targeting upstream receptors, RAS, and kinases in the extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1 (ERK1) and 2 (ERK2) signaling cascade. The use of these drugs in cancer therapy - together with ongoing monitoring of their effectiveness, evolving side-effects, and resistance mechanisms - has expanded our knowledge of both the physiological and pathological functions of ERK1/2 and could thus provide potential alternative therapeutic strategies.

Posttranslational modifications (PTMs) of proteins are efficient biological mechanisms for expanding the genetic code and for regulating cellular physiology. However, there have been no systematic approaches to profile all the PTMs critical for autoreactive neoantigen production or the etiology and pathology of autoimmune diseases. In the present study, to gain insight into protein PTMs associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), we applied a mass spectrometry-based method for the comprehensive analysis of modified amino acids ("adductome").

In an era where negative word-of-mouth escalates and spreads rapidly on social media, understanding the psychological mechanisms of brand defense is of critical importance. Expanding on literature that establishes brand love as a strong predictor of pro-brand behaviors in offline settings, this study investigates the psychological process that transforms this emotion into defensive behaviors in the high-visibility and high-risk environment of social media. This study advances and tests a moderated mediation model, specifying that customer brand engagement (CBE) mediates the brand love-brand defense relationship.

Introduction: Radiographers in low-resource settings like Ghana often operate in environments with limited access to radiologists, resulting in informal involvement in image interpretation tasks despite a lack of formal recognition or training. Preliminary Image Evaluation (PIE), where radiographers provide initial comments on X-ray images have been successfully implemented in other countries. This study explored the perspectives of Ghanaian radiographers on PIE involvement.
