The fibrous hybrid material was synthesized by suspension radical styrene polymerization on the surface of cellulose microfibers. The resulting material was used to prepare a thermally stable and mechanically strong porous composite matrix that was employed as a carrier for further precipitation of the hygroscopic agents: CaCl and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride. The obtained composite materials were used to capture atmospheric water at different relative humidity levels and extract fresh water. A composite material containing an ionic liquid (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride) as a hygroscopic agent demonstrated the best water absorption efficiency and reusability potential.

Ni-Fe (oxy)hydroxides are among the most active oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts in alkaline media. However, achieving precise control over local asymmetric Fe-O-Ni active sites in Ni-Fe oxyhydroxides for key oxygenated intermediates' adsorption steric configuration regulation of the OER is still challenging. Herein, we report a two-step dealloying strategy to fabricate asymmetric Fe-O-Ni pair sites in the shell of NiOOH@FeOOH/NiOOH heterostructures from NiFe Prussian blue analogue (PBA) nanocubes, involving anion exchange and structure reconstruction.

Cardiovascular disorders remain a leading cause of death worldwide, and the use of contemporary stents is paving the way for a profound shift in the field of cardiology. In the surgical process postimplantation, the graft or stent and host-immune interaction play a significant role in the healing process, thus it is a major challenge in healthcare. To address these challenges, recent advancements have introduced bioactive coatings with specialized modifications in stents to enhance their interaction with surrounding environment.

This article is based on the research background of an early performance of shotcrete under low-temperature environments. Silica fume (SF) (silicon powder) and nano-CSH are used to improve the effect of the low-temperature environment on the performance of alkali-free (AF) liquid accelerators and early strength of shotcrete. The results show that the 10% SF and 3% nano-CSH composite admixture significantly enhances AF accelerators' performance at 5 °C, reducing initial and final setting times to 3.

Sleep deprivation (SD) is a major contributor to cognitive impairment, often accompanied by central neuroinflammation and gut microbiota dysbiosis. The tryptophan (TRP) pathway, activated via indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO), serves as a critical link between immune activation and neuronal damage. Umbelliferone (UMB), a naturally occurring coumarin compound, possesses anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and microbiota-modulating properties.
