Article Abstract

Through-space electrical conduction in paddlewheel-type homovalent dinuclear complexes remains poorly understood, despite the numerous reports on these complexes. Herein, the electrical conduction of new Ru(II,II) complexes with 2-pyrenecarboxylate (pyrCOO) ligands, [Ru(pyrCOO)X] ⋅ n(X) (where X=DMF (Ru-DMF), NMP (Ru-NMP), DMA (Ru-DMA)), was investigated. The dimensionality of π-stacking interactions between discrete molecules in Ru-DMA is higher (two-dimensional) than in Ru-DMF and Ru-NMP (stair-like one-dimensional). Nevertheless, Ru-DMF, which contains a slight amount of organic radicals, exhibited the highest electrical conductivity. This suggests that the large overlap and high dimensionality of π-stacking interactions among the complexes, along with a slight organic radical impurity, contribute to the increased electrical conductivity.

This study introduces a back filter installed at the end of the exhaust pipe of city buses. The impact of the metal type used in its construction on the absorption of suspended particles and the reduction of sulfides in diesel engine exhaust gases is investigated. The back filter is constructed from three metals: copper, zinc, and nickel.

The rapid development of industry and agriculture has led to a significant increase in the toxicity and pollution of cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) in soil. Consequently, soil remediation employing biochar or modified biochar has emerged as a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable approach to address the issue of heavy metal (HM) ion pollution. PEI-functionalization biochar (PBC) derived from corn straw (PBCC), wood straw (PBCW), and rice straw (PBCR) was synthesized to immobilize Cd and Pb in contaminated acidic yellow soil.

Scalable Photothermal Superhydrophobic Deicing Coating with Mechanochemical-Thermal Robustness.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

Department of Chemical Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian 116024, P. R. China.

Developing scalable and robust deicing coatings is essential for real-world applications, yet current coatings either suffer from intrinsic fragility or low thermal conductivity, limiting sustainability and deicing effectiveness. Here, we report a scalable and durable photothermal superhydrophobic coating coupling with enhanced thermal conductivity, engineered by embedding carbon nanotubes within a perfluoroalkoxy polymer matrix. Our design achieved 97.

Zirconium disilicide (ZrSi) ceramics have excellent physical and chemical properties and are employed in aerospace, energy, and chemical industries. Currently, the preparation and properties of ZrSi ceramics have been less studied. To comprehensively study the characteristics of ZrSi ceramics, in this study, dense bulk ZrSi ceramic samples are successfully prepared by the high-pressure-high-temperature (HPHT) sintering technique.

This study investigated the association between parameters derived from bioelectrical impedance spectroscopy (BIS) and arterial stiffness, as measured using carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (cfPWV) and brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) pulse wave velocities. Data from 292 Japanese adults were analyzed. BIS was used to assess the phase angle (PhA), extracellular water to intracellular water ratio (ECW/ICW), and body cell mass-to-free fat mass ratio (BCM/FFM).
